Obamacare is NOT universal health care.
You'd have to LEAVE the United States to have that!

People DO die here. That argument would fly if there weren't people who are dropped from their insurance companies or parents who have to bury children because they did not have access to GOOD health care.
Unfortunately, even WITH good insurance, there is no guarantee of having GOOD health care.

Many (perhaps even most) physicians are just PILL PUSHERS. A drug for high blood pressure; another for cholesterol; another for diabetes; another for arthritis pain; and another for something else.

Many combinations of drugs in themselves are DEADLY.

They aren't CARING for your health. They are just putting people on pills to mask the symptoms.

MOST people would be more healthy and LESS in need of physicians if they just took a little care of themselves.

It is beyond my comprehension as to why there are SO MANY SICK people that depend on drugs and NEVER seem to get well.

Guess that's the nature of the health care beast (and the profits it generates).

Health insurance is part of an employee's compensation package.
In other words, the employee performs work in exchange for compensation.

Confiscating your neighbors' earnings to pay for your personal healthcare is not at all equivalent.

You are responsible for other people's lifestyle choices already. Why do you think insurance is so expensive? Are you really that ignorant to know understand that if we lived in a nation filled with healthier people, insurance costs wouldn't be so ridiculous?
The difference between me and you is that I'm not a selfish person. If me paying more taxes means that a child will have access to adequate health care and live a longer life, I'm more than happy to that. I have this crazy notion that people should have access to proper medical care. I guess I'm just a selfish a-hole, though. Damn people who care about others. What dirty, rotten people.
Name one person in this country who cannot receive health care. You freeloaders might just have to pay for it. Why should we have to pay for you? Don't owe you a penny.

Well, let's hope you make a BOATLOAD of money so that you can not only pay for health insurance for your own children and keep a roof over your head AND pay more taxes so that other children will have access to adequate health care.

That requires a very large income!

Those will limited income can only TALK about helping others.

If you indeed are one of the higher income people, it is not necessary to have the government TAX you more. There are plenty of needy charities that help the disadvantaged.

You really are dumb as dirt but then again.......that is why it's so easy for the media to brainwash your kind.

Finland is a teeny tiny homogeneous country which provides an example of how small populations, segregation and lack of diversity can be an economic advantage.

I won't deny there are those doctors out there. I can't say as though I've had any. I've always had very professional doctors who have been very helpful and promoted a healthy diet, exercise, etc. Even after I was in a car accident and sprained my back, I sought pain meds from one doctor. She advised me to exercise more and do core-strengthening exercises. I never got one pain pill out of her and instead did what she advised. It worked.

Maybe if people researched their doctors a little better and really valued those physicians who take time with their patients, there wouldn't be this issue.

There is something to be said about some medications, however. People are living longer. That in part may be to better health choices, but I think some medication also helps that. Why are there so many sick people? Because we live in a society that insists on McDonald's on every corner, sugary drinks and snacks in our office vending machines and instead of going out and exercising, we as a culture sit on our collective asses and play around on the internet all day. It's not just the health care industry you should be pointing fingers at.

I just read an article the other day about one state trying to limit the amount of junk food and soda people can buy with food stamps. Something I'm all in favor for. Five million tax dollars go towards the purchase of soda each year. Now the government is trying to limit that, as they should. However, one could say this is a slippery slope. Should the government tell you what you can eat and drink? Personally, I think it should, especially when it comes to tax dollars. My point about this whole scenario is that Pepsi and Frito Lay are against this legislation because it will put a significant dent in their profits. They are sending lobbyists to work against the passage of this bill. These are the people/corporations that are inflicting serious harm on us. And we're letting them. Consuming processed foods, soda and sugary/salty snacks is causing obesity, high blood pressure, and a myriad of other health problems. Why aren't you angry with these industries as well?

No it's about how it's funded and the ratio of takers to givers.
Finland is a small country that has a very educated population and it's very homogenous. Try being a welfare queen in a country like Sweden, Finland, or Switzerland. You will be blackballed and shunned in that society if you acted even remotely close to how some of our entitled act.
Take away any federal tax refunds for those on government assistance and use that money to find government healthcare. That would be a start. Then everyone pays 15% income tax regardless of their occupation. The only deductions that should stay in play are mortgage deductions since owning a home is a huge part of the American dream and many Americans pay their mortgages on time and earned their rates and their homes. The other is the student loan interest deduction since those folks put in years of hard work to attain a high priced degree and they simply didn't default on their school loans. Those are two of the deductions I actually think make some sense in our tax code. Start with those two things and then we might be able to fund some of Obamacare, but if we are going to keep handing out social services like they are funded by a money tree then we are going to crash and burn.

If employers didn't have to pay benefits, they could pay higher wages. They could employ more people and create jobs. Everything takes away from something else.

If it weren't for a sense of community in our history, mankind would not have survived.
