If employers didn't have to pay benefits, they could pay higher wages. They could employ more people and create jobs. Everything takes away from something else.
If it weren't for a sense of community in our history, mankind would not have survived.
Back in the day almost all people contributed... much less so today.

What's the biggest problem in healthcare? Cost. what has Obama Care accomplished? it has raised costs and this is an admission of none other then one of the biggest champions of Obamacare Chucky Schumer.
I would say the biggest problem with health care is those who don't have access to it.

I certainly don't think employers should not offer insurance. I guess you did not get the facetious tone in my post. I seem to remember a time when Americans were going to Canada to get their prescription medication. They obviously must have something up there we want.
At that time, it was medication!!!!!!

Sure thing. I'll make sure to quit my job and live on here 24/7 like some others seem to. Mental health care should probably be a priority for you to become so irate over something so insignificant. But it does make me laugh, so proceed with your rants.
Too bad for your employer as you are on the internet, ALL OF THE TIME! Now, what about the picture? Is that you? If so, change it, please.

It shouldn't be for most people. Insurance is supposed to be for risk management. Each person should pay in proportion to their own personal risk factors. If you personally partake of dangerous activities, you personally should have to pay increased premiums because of your increased risk. Just like my car insurance premiums go up if I get a bunch of speeding tickets or have a history of causing accidents, or life insurance is more expensive for someone who has more risk factors.
Some people do pay more. Smokers tend to pay more for insurance. I don't have any problem with people being accountable for their life choices. What I have a problem with is people being kicked off insurance due to things they cannot control. What I also have a problem with is children not having access to proper medical care.

It was 7.7 in December of last year, May stats don't exist yet, and April stats are yet to be released.
The most current number is 8.2 in March following an upward trend beginning last February.
The economies of Southern and Northern Europe are very different, as are cultural work ethics.
Imperialism ended in the 1960s, Asia was also colonized, and then wrecked in wars. But yet Vietnam is doing well, in fact better than most African countries.
But, as the typical liberal, you always respond with BLAME YT FIRST
The Aztecs committed ritual human sacrifice en masse
You are correct. The latest figure I saw was March 2013 and it was reported to be 9%. There is a difference between 7.5%(as the U.S. currently stands and 9% in Finland as of March). That isn't a very big difference. Finland's economy is not tanking.

When imperialism has destroyed nations, yes, I will point the finger. How long has apartheid been over? Oh, that's right...not long at all.

Vietnam is doing well? It weathered the global financial crisis relatively well, about as well as Finland. As for the state of affairs, it has a poor judicial system, does not have a strong support for human rights and doesn't exactly give its citizens a lot of opportunities. Have you ever been to Vietnam?

As a liberal, yes, you will never find me praising imperialism.

EBTs were the state's greatest trick to minimize the public face of welfare transfers.
EBT was the creation of liberal idealists who thought that the mere notion of people knowing you are on assistance was too harmful to the psyche of the poor. So they give them what look like credit cards and welfare which used to be shunned and seen as a last resort for the poor is now the first thing people go for. Hell many families where I am from actually consider welfare an occupation. I loved when I worked at a hospital and read the intake information and read "insurance: Molina, care source, Ohio Medicaid" then the title of occupation was "homemaker" or "full time parent". I always chuckled. I know plenty of people who are parents and have this little side gig called a full time job.

The problem is we allowed the stigma of being embarrassed and ashamed of being on public assistance. Now it's the norm and no one feels ashamed that they are a burden on society. Hell many feel so entitled that they think work is wrong and that they should be paid to exist.

As to the rest of the post, you should consult a history and economics textbook, you have a problem with the facts.

A. If you say so. I disagree.
B. Again, not discussing PP or Gosnell. It's not relevant to anything I'm discussing here.

More like rehearsed. Especially in press conferences, where he knows who's going to ask and what they're going to ask, before he even enters the room. On those rare occasions where someone goes off-script, he hems and haws with the best of them.
