I'll be honest, this thread is barking up the wrong tree.
When Fidel Castro dies, there will be huge celebrations in Miami, and for the right nationwide.
Only the ex-pat community will be publicly cheering and dancing in the streets. And as I said before, that's an example of a sworn enemy of this nation. British PMs, not so much (since Gladstone, at least.)

My bad. I thought you were offended by the celebration of the woman's death. I didn't realize that what offended you was that it occured in the street.

I condemn the people in GB celebrating the death of Thatcher in the streets. They should be courageous and do it anonymously on Topix instead.

We'll see how you react in public when Cheney and GWB are memorialized. If we hear about a female paralegal in the news, we'll know what happened.

It's so fun to watch you squirm.

Then you must be terribly bored today.
Your childish twisting is so obvious that it only serves to make you look like a brat.

One of the UK Telegraph's in-house Labourites, Dan Hodges, urged his comrades on the Left to maintain their dignity in the wake of Margaret Thatcher's death earlier today:

"Everyone on the Left is being scrutinised today. Does the compassion we claim to be our driving force extend to the passing of a frail 87-year-old woman? Does the Labour movement’s dignity and discipline enable us to mark with appropriate solemnity the death of a former Prime Minister who successfully secured three independent mandates from the people? Do we have the basic good grace and wisdom to set aside – for a short time – our political differences and acknowledge, however hard it may be, the achievements of the first women to hold the highest office in our land? For all our sakes, I hope we do."

You are twitching around trying to squirm out of your "the right doesn't celebrate death" comment. It's even better when you deny it and suggest that other people are really the ones doing it.

Who on the right is doing it? When were they doing it?
Foreign enemies like Chavez and Castro are fair game, and still, nobody takes to the streets in this country to celebrate. Nobody has ever taken to the streets in this country in my lifetime to cheer the death of a Democrat.

If you think there were no spontaneous celebrations in the South when Martin Luther King was shot then you are truly an idiot.

But then you are truly an idiot anyway.

I'll celebrate by drinking a raspberry smoothie, and passing gas while I watch the festivities on TV.

What are your plans?

I really had ambivalent feelings for Maggie, so it doesn't really upset me. I'll be quite upset when Duke passes on to that great pasture in the sky, but Maggie....whatever.

I'm not surprised at all that there are people in the UK who really really disliked her. Why you, with your storied background in international relations would be so utterly surprised or offended by that, I have no clue.

So blatantly obvious, and we missed it.

Thanks Karl.

MLK was a Republican, wee man. Those celebrating were George Wallace Democrats.
You're not too bright, are you?

Only if they were to register, or were to receive a special dispensation from Paco not requiring it, would such an act be courageous.

Dislike and public celebration are two entirely different things. George Galloway certainly lived down to his reputation today.
I laughed when I saw comments from the left about Thatcher's alleged negative influence on today's electricity prices in Britain; they were obviously too young or stoned to remember what the Britain of the mid-70s was like...blackouts and three day workweeks as people froze.
