Galloway's Tweet, shameful cheers at student conference and street parties: Left's sickening 'celebration' breaks out just minutes after Baroness Thatcher's death

NUS National conference reported to have cheered at news of her death

Champagne was flowing tonight as the Left took to the streets to celebrate the death of former Conservative Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

More than 300 people gathered in Glasgow city centre, while over 100 revellers amassed on the streets of Brixton, south London.

Within hours of her death, people had taken to micro blogging sites to organise the gatherings.

In Glasgow's George Square anti-capitalist campaigners shouted from loudspeakers,'Maggie, Maggie, Maggie' as the crowd replied 'dead, dead, dead.

Members of organisations including the Anti-Bedroom Tax Federation, the Communist Party, the Socialist Party, the Socialist Working Party, the International Socialist Group, were joined by members of the public at the impromptu 'party'.

Crowds gathered from 5pm, despite a statement from Glasgow City Council discouraging anyone from attending the event.

A chorus of 'so long the witch is dead' erupted from those gathered as a cork from a champagne bottle was popped.

There were also some who came prepared with cardboard party hats and streamers.

Meanwhile, more than 100 people gathered in Brixton, south London - the scene of fierce riots in 1981 - two years into her first time in office.

Some were carrying banners, with one saying:'Rejoice, Thatcher is dead.'

They also opened champagne and cheered, shouting:'Maggie, Maggie, Maggie, dead, dead, dead.'
One shouted:'Free milk for all.'

Organised on Facebook the invite read:'A party to celebrate the death of Thatcher and our continuing commitment to fight the legacy she left and that continues to devastate the lives of ordinary people everywhere.'

Over 6,000 people were invited to attend and a party-goer told revellers to tell the press 'it's in memory of those who died in the Falklands and the UK from her reign of error.'

At the NUS National conference in Sheffield there were cheers when news of her death emerged, although Liam Burns National President quickly said:'Now, let me be clear, Iím the last person to agree with Margaret Thatcherís politics or her policy record as prime minister. But we must not forget that an elderly woman has just died.'

Only a few minutes after the death of the 87-year-old, George Galloway, the Respect MP for Bradford West took to his Twitter writing 'Tramp the dirt down.'

Maybe instead I should ask why conservative religious zealots would protest at a famed American film critic's funeral.

But I won't.

False equivalency is a favorite of yours, little girl. Naturally you would think that a banana republic dictator who called the United States an enemy is worthy of the same respect as a British PM. ANY British PM.

You asked...he answered. Now you don't like the answer, even though its directly on point.

Regardless, if some folks out there wish to dance in the streets because Maggie's dead, why should I care?

I'm guessing that when Bill or Hillary pass, there will be a lot of your kind with smiles on their faces too. That's how it goes when divisive public figures die.

Stop acting like its unprecedented, or limited to those of one particular political persuasion. Its not. You merely make yourself look more foolish.

You forgot your question already, didn't you? You asked if anyone could recall the right celebrating when a "foul leftist died." You didn't ask whether Hugo Chavez was worthy of the same respect of any British PM. I provided you an example of "the rights'" glee over a leader's death. You then change the subject, a favorite of yours.

They're also Democrats and friends of Al Gore's:

A member of the Democratic Party, Phelps has occasionally run for political office. In the election for United States Senator for Kansas in 1992, he received 49,416 votes (30.8%) in the Democratic primary, coming in second after Gloria O'Dell (who subsequently lost to later presidential candidate Bob Dole).

Phelps supported Al Gore in the 1988 Democratic Party presidential primary election.[40]; in his 1984 Senate race, Gore had opposed a "gay bill of rights" and stated that homosexuality was not something that "society should affirm"), a position he had changed by 2000 when he had the support of homosexual advocacy groups for his presidential campaign. Phelps has stated that he supported Gore because of these earlier comments.[41] According to Phelps, members of the Westboro Baptist Church helped run Gore's 1988 campaign in Kansas.

Fred Phelps has run for office as a Democrat several times in the past.

The WBC isn't much interested in drawing converts. Their theology is better explained as just taunting the rest of us, they don't actually want converts.

I'll be honest, this thread is barking up the wrong tree.

When Fidel Castro dies, there will be huge celebrations in Miami, and for the right nationwide.
