LMAO Is this guy not the most pathetic loser of the decade? He used and abused everyone around him to the point of criminal acts. Disgusting human being.

Guess I shouldn't count him out. Afterall, Pete Rose has a reality show.

Alot of people in pro sport's, I'm sure they do the same thing he did but they don't go after them. The man beat Cancer, maybe the drugs he took helped him beat Cancer. I wear a pink rubber band on my wrist that says "LIVVELONG.SUPPORT BREAST CANCER RESEARCH AND EDUCATION" & I have the yellow rubber band that is for Lance Armstrong. The man is human just like everyone of us & all the athletes that take drugs to better themselves on the field.

Do you really think they do? But do they all bully and threaten those around them into doing he same or that they'll ruin their lives if they 'talk'? And he denied it for so long and in so many venues.

My boss is a triple site, fourth stage cancer survivor. And during his chemo, I mailed him pot for the nausea. Wrong to thing to do, but for the right reason.

He does A LOT for cancer doctors, hospitals and research. I have a little 'cancer network' going from my desk. When someone is diganosed, they call me, or a friend does, and I call around and get them to the 'right' doctor.

I'll tell you, Clint, my family has been in thorughbred racing for four generations now. Lot's of bad stuff goes on, but the men in my family have always had immaculate reputations and never had a tarnish on their licenses.

I know some inject a horse with cobra venon to deaden the paid so they'll run harder. It's illegal. It's legal to cut a never below the knee of a horse to block pain, but illegal to cut one above the knee. They found a dead horse on the backside of Gulfstream Park a few years ago with a missing leg. Owner/trainer was Michael Gill. Wasn't a great leap to know what he'd done, but they could never find the missing leg. These kind never last.

Every track has a set of three members,'the stewards.' It's a panel of judges. My brother was one. Every race they are watching closely from the very top of the stands. Every morning while training is going on they are meeting with jockeys, trainers, grooms, anyone with a license, that has had a complaint lodged. Most of the time it's lodged by the stewards themselves. They listen, consider and either drop the complaint or hand out 'days'(your license is pulled for so many days, depending on the offense.)

To me,'being a human being' doesn't excuse it. Not with the years of abuse and criminal behavior. He went too far. Hurt other people. Probably hurt his charity.

I guess I'm saying 'so what if you gain the world, if you lose your soul in the process.' That's what Armstrong did.

That should be 'cut a nerve below the knee' not a 'never'. I'm such a dork.

A buddy of mine was riding in Pelotonia the year Lance Armstrong made a cameo. He said Armstrong was cocooned from everybody else and wouldn't even acknowledge anybody. He said Armstrong came across as a real jerk.

If he was smart and still has his millions, I would say losing half of your testicle to cancer was still worth it. If he blew all his money, however, I would really be bummed about now.

I think of performance drugs the same way I think of breast implants.

If some woman wants to butcher her body so she can serve as my visual sex toy, more power to her.

Likewise, if Lance wants to donate half of his manhood so he can pedal faster so he can entertain me, by all means let him do so.

Pete Rose used to gamble at the tracks around here. Kids would go up to him and ask for his autograph, or just to shake his hand and he'd tell them to "Get away from me, Kid."

Guess Armstrong is the same kind of jerk.
He won't have his millions long. Several suits against him, including the US Postal Service. The feds want their 30 million back that they paid him to represent them. and that suit will award 'treble damages.' They said he was worth about 100 million before he made this 'announcement.' So that's going to be gone quickly.

What a fall from grace. You'd think he'd have been so thankful for beating cancer he'd have walked the straight and narrow for the rest of his life.

When they first said he was confessing so he could race again in 4 years I asked my husband, "Well four years older and not on steroids...what can he win?"

Bob, stop thinking about breasts, implants or real.
:-)

You know, I know several women who have done that. Listening to the chatter in the salon and such, I really think they do it more for other women than men. And they all want to 'touch them.' Weird.

I also know two women who have had breast reductions to get rid of the back pain. That's a tough recovery, but they are both glad they did it.

I guess losing one testicle doesn't change a man's life much. Horses with one testicle are considered 'in the Hitler club.' Doesn't interfere with their value or performance in the breeding shed.
A P Indy and Selkirk are two champions that, I believe, had only one distended at birth. Had to surgically remove the other inverted one to length their stride for racing. Both were champions.

How did we get to testicles? Oh, yeah...Lance Armstrong.

OK, look at it this way.. Lance won the Tour D France 7 times. He's not the only one in that race that doped. Others on his team doped too, are they on trial here? NOPE!

Another example... The most home runs, they went after a few guys who beat the long time home run record that held for so many years. I'm sure other baseball players doped too.

They need to DRUG test all players in Pro Sports, since the public thinks that our kids look up to them, just as I have looked up to Lance Armstrong wheather he doped or not to better himself, everyone else has the same chance as he did, but did they fight & beat CANCER like he did?

I also read in this forum, someone brought up Pete Rose's name. Were talking about doping to inhance your body, NOT gambling!

HERE!!! HERE!!!! See 22 places above 23rd place doped, why aren't they being put on trial? Because Lance Armstrong Won the race 7 times in a rom. Where is Greg Lemond? Did he dope too?

Gregory James "Greg" LeMond (born June 26, 1961 in Lakewood, California) is an American cyclist who raced as a professional from 1981 to 1994.

He became the first American to win the Tour de France in 1986. In 1987 he was injured in a shooting accident, and could not race again until 1989, when he won the Tour de France again. He beat the French cyclist Laurent Fignon in an individual time trial using aero bars, which made him more aerodynamic (able to move through air easily). He won the Tour de France again in 1990. He now runs a bicycle company, and works to help people who are victims of sexual abuse. He has been diagnosed with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder.[1]

Well, Clint, it was my impression that all of them were being looked at and investigated.'Course Armstrong was the big champion and big name, so it will get more attention.

What it probably will come down to, in the legal sense, is who gained fiancially, and in doing so, breeched a contract and/or who lied under oath.

Now we have the 21 year old pro football player with the 'imaginary' girlfriend who died of leukemia. He needs some help, but he hasn't committed a crime.

Yeah I heard about the girlfriend, beating Michigan, but was it the cause Notor Dames lost to Alabama?
You cannot Deny what Pete Rose did for the sport of Baseball. Remember his goods times not his bad times (gambling).

I never did care about him gambling. It's not like the black sox scandal. I don't think he ever threw a game because of his gambling, did he? I didn't like the way he treated his fans when he came to the track. He could have prearranged a private box and no one would have known he was there.

I am feeling really bad for this college player. Now what's coming out, and with my experience on Topix, I think he very well could have been the victim of a hoax. I mean, he's a 21 year old kid who wanted to keep up with his buddies and maybe painfully shy. I did just hear that the email address he was corresponding with belonged to a man.
