Money talks!
If you try to apply the law to a powerful man who owns Union County, you don't have any chance!

How can a kicking 'be out of context'? A kicking is a kicking, idiots!

Idiots and hilljacks..who? The veterinarians, the humane society, the experts that said that what he did was appropriate?

Are you suggesting that what Mr. Conklin did was inappropriate? On what basis?

What about the crooked radical animal rights activists that spliced the tape up to distort the truth? Do you really think that was done to protect animal rights?

Where is the outrage for allowing the real abuse to go on for 3 weeks?

You are probably just another radical trying to distort the truth for some other agenda, but less and less people are falling for your smear tactics. A reasonable organization that cared about animal rights would have brought the violation to the owner’s attention. A reasonable organization would care about justice and not destruction of a legitimate business. Heck, if they thought Mr. Conklin was part of the problem, then why not report it? If he did not address the problem then you would really have something on him. It is obvious that Mercy for Animals and the under cover guy knew that Mr. Conklin did not support or allow animal abuse which is why they resorted to lies.

It is also obvious that Mercy for Animals & yourself could care less about the fair treatment of animals-- you just want to smear and destroy.

Please..
You mean to tell me that Gary Conklin threatened or bribed a county prosecutor, the sheriff's office, four independent large animal veterinarians (including a state veterinarian with ODA), the Union County Humane Society, and an entire grand jury (which he wouldn't know their identities until they were in the courtroom)? He's a cattle broker, not Warren Buffett. Additionally, he does hold public office nor is he some magnificent financial donor to the county.

It appears that all of you can't accept the fact that you were wrong about this man. Suggesting corruption? Stacking the jury? When his own life and family are being threatened? Please.

Doesn't that just figure in Union Co. It's who you know that can get you out of trouble.
You can't tell me Gary Conklin didn't know those cows and calves weren't abused. He would of seen them getting on the semi to go to slaughter house that is if they were alive then or could stand up.
I'm so sick of people that are wll known in the community doing as they darn well please. I just hope they get a pay back for what they do in life that is wrong.
In the meantime who protects the poor innocent animals that can't protect themselves. It's okay that those aminals put bread and butter on their table at night though.

Interesting that a jury would find this appropriate behavior. Were they all farm bureau members?

Lies? Did you even see the video? Because if you did-and you still think the treatment was "appropriate", then something is seriously wrong with you.

Are you only defending these monsters because you live in the same town? You know them and have that small town mentality? Defend the good ol' boys no matter what.

If Mr. Conklin is such a cow abuser, why couldn't MFA get a better shot of him. Vetrinarians should have the final say in right or wrong when it comes to animals. This farm is a business. I am sure this whole ordeal has taken a toll on the Conklin family. You have the video, his dairy wouldn't take his milk, people were complaining to publishers of magazines he advertised in. The only thing he is guilty of is hiring a sadistic moron and trusting that moron to do a good job and treat the animals fairly.

I am extremely disappointed with law enforcement in this case. How shameful they are trying to say the abuse in the video is taken out of context. Any reasonable person can see that the animals in the video suffered prolonged, malicious abuse. There must have been plenty of obvious signs of injured cows who suffered abuse at the hands of Billy Joe Gregg Jr. I just can't imagine how Gary Conklin didn't know this abuse was happening unless he was, at the very least, criminally negligent in his responsibility to provide adequate care for these animals. Shame on David Philips for failing to take action against Gary Conklin. I fear animals will continue to suffer abuse at this dairy farm. And with such lacking law enforcement, I am even more convinced that animal abuse is common on modern farms. These people can apparently get away with anything.

I am from Marysville and everyone is right they are a bunch of fn idiots. Mr Conklin should have been fried with the other guy. Yes TRUE you should not let a large animal lay down if its stomach is turning but HELLO its not going to feel better by kicking it in the stomach you take a fn lead rope and pull. So whats done is done and they are not going to charge him they should atleast let someone take over his business and he should be banned from taking care of anymore I say we rally in the court house and they either change there minds or have a ton of scrunity under their a**

Listen to this audio clip from Dr. Donald Sanders (a veterinarian) regarding the "inhumane kicking" that all of you speak of. If it is sooooo bad, why hasn't a single veterinarian come out and said that Conklin should be charged? Oh right, he is buying there silence and their approval.

I don't see how they were "risking their lives" when they too watched the abuse day after day and did nothing....

and then to splice tapes to present a distorted view of evidence is a deal breaker I don't care how you look at it.

Perhaps the people who know Conklin are the ones who are most qualified to comment on his character and how he raises his cattle as oppose to people like you.

You know who the real monsters are? People who call and threaten this man and his family with death and destruction of property. Please provide justification as to why violence against others is the answer.
