Perjury hasn't been a crime since 1998 as long as it's a Demonrat doing it.

How about because Joe is an honest person? Do you really believe that most people don't break laws because they are afraid of the consequences? How cynical is that?
Sure Tony, that's one possibility. But I don't think anyone believes that criminal statutes deter honest people from committing crimes.

And anyone who thinks everyone on the planet is honest...well...I don't think I need to go on.

Let us know when the law ends bank robberies.
Fine...have it your way. Start your campaign to repeal all criminal statutes.

Let me know how that works out for you.

I have no idea what that means.
That means that if guns are made illegal, then every gun owner instantly becomes a criminal, whether they've ever harmed anyone or not (and don't for a minute try to claim that they're not trying to ban all firearms, because more then one politician has publicly admitted it).
What is the purpose of punishing? Revenge?
Sometimes. Sometimes it's that the person in prison won't be repeating his crime while he's there. And sometimes it's simply about getting more cash in the government coffers.

Well, if that person isn't repeating his crimes while in prison, I suppose that prevents crime, eh?

I said that I think that the main thing that prevents people from committing crimes is fear of punishment, not the inner belief that it is wrong. Most people generally behave as relativists.

I see. I think that's true to a certain extent... a matter of degrees perhaps. I don't steal because it's not mine, but I don't beat myself up over telling a woman she looks nice today when she's butt ugly.

Did the law against murder prevent it? I guess we don't need that one either.
If murder is the law and it is illegal to murder someone why outlaw guns?

No one has introduced legislation to outlaw guns. But the idea of regulating guns and who can have them is to make murder harder to commit. Not all that complicated.

the speed limit is 65, yet Corvette's reach over 200 miles per hour.

maybe you need to speed limit all cars to keep criminals from speeding?

speeding and gun violence are choice of a person.

Excuse me but what about assault rifles? What about clips? You libs have an agenda and will take what you can get and then go for a little more.

Why don't you put efforts into the economy? Nope, immigration, gay marriage and gun control are more important. Going on 5 years of effective unemployment above 10% and you want to regulate guns?

You should be shot!
