The Dumocrats keep stalling and refuse to compromise, they want the default so they can blame the Repubs. This country started with a revolution and perhaps it's time for a new one to rid the system of the professional politician. The stodgy old farts need replaced with new blood.

What little respect I had for politicians is now entirely gone. All they care about is their next vote. Plaudits to the very few who don't meet this stereotyping. What a bunch of irresponsible misfits our leaders are. Just keep spending for those votes and let our children deal with it.

If your not ashamed of who is ruining our country by now, you are clueless and simply care for nothing....Your president tweets, amd Reid has his head in Obamas butt. Anything to make you stand with these dems., they will do. We may lose our triple ratng, we will default on loans, and simple dems., care nothing about this country. Just put me back in office in two years. Do you even give a thought as to what you will be paying next year? Do you give a thought what you and your family will go thru? How about your country? Tell me, what this party is thinking and what they are going to do? Have you lost all common sense, struck dumb, or just as clueless as your leaders. A party will not save your country as long as you can not wake up..I blieve you will watch this country go down, for one man. Is he that important to you? Laughing stock of the world, and you have no shame for what you have allowed us to become. Where is your pride, lost and gave it away, didn't you?? Other countries lost everything because they followed a ruler, we are no different..Brain washed, is what you are. Shame to all who have given our freedom away. You have been bought, for less than 30 piece of silver,'cause you took a lot less than that... You will down rate us and give it to Obama and Reid.

“We have changed the nature of the discussion in Washington from increased taxes to cutting government spending,” Tiberi said. "We're about screwing over seniors and the poor, gutting needed investments, dismantling crucial protections and taking care of the rich," he went on. "Clowns. Criminals. Sociopaths. Buffoons." "But the good news is we can count on a cozy right-wing Jack Torry, a lying extremist in Glenn Sheller, and the full backing of the owner of this Ugly Little Paper as we go out and prove that today's GOP has no interest in governing."

DEMOCRATS SHOULD BE ASHAMED!!!! It is unbelievable that the Democrats are not doing what is necessary to avert this crisis. Where are your bills that the republicans turned down? Are you too afraid to actually provide a plan so the American People can see what your ideas are? Congratulations to the House and the Republicans for putting forth 2 bills that attempted to avert this crisis.

Americans do an excellent job of spending. At the end of 2010 U.S. household debt totaled $13.4 trillion which is 107 percent of the $12.5 trillion individuals earned last year. From these figures one can say that people are really great at not paying the tab. The United States government’s debt totals $13.8 trillion which is 94 percent of the $14.7 trillion in national income, taxes. The government owes less than the people! Stop being a nation of deadbeats, put tax rates back to 2000 levels and pay off those bills!

So there you go! Proof that Democrat party members have no intrest in responsible government. You lideral sycophants can scream all you want...But the fact is that the dems rejected a bill that did what they wanted but also mandated a balanced budget. So go ahead with the name calling...the facts don't lie!

Enough children! Keep the country out of default. Compromise necessary from both sides. Stop logrolling a debt ceiling, closing tax loopholes, restoring taxes to 2000 levels, a balanced budget amendment to the United States Constitution, spending cuts, and God know what else into a simple debt ceiling vote. Up or down people. How hard is that? The American people are fed up with this dithering Congress. If you vote against raising the debt ceiling or fail to do anything, a pox on you and your house! You will face the consequences in the next election which is a little over a year away. By the way, it is the Democratic Party, not the Democrat Party you Limbaugh lovers.

Here is a short civic lesson. Budgets DO NOT come from the White House. They come from Congress and the party that controlled Congress since January, 2007 is the Democratic Party. Furthermore, they controlled the budget process for 2008,'09,'10 and '11. In that first year they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending when he got tough on spending increases. For 2009, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bypassed President Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until BARACK OBAMA could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budget. Obama, at that time, was a member of that very Congress that PASSED all of these massive spending bills and he signed the omnibus bill, AS PRESIDENT, to complete 2009. If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the LAST of the REPUBLICAN BUDGETS. That deficit was the LOWEST in FIVE years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, DEMOCRATS IN CONGRESS TOOK CONTROL OF SPENDING, AND THAT INCLUDED BARACK OBAMA, who VOTED for the budgets. IF OBAMA INHERITED ANYTHING, HE INHERITED IT FROM HIMSELF. In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is, "I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold."

Keep it simple Congress. How about passing a 2-year debt ceiling increase, with no strings attached. Just an up-or-down vote. Next, pass a law requiring the Federal government to operate on a biennial budget, once again with no strings attached. Finally, pick two Democrats, two Republican, and two Independents from each house of Congress, and they will be required to develop a deficit reduction plan, which includes both spending cuts and revenue increases, by the end of this year. This plan will then go before both houses of Congress, with no strings attached, for an up-or-down vote within 30 days. It appears that our elected officials can't do anything too complicated, so lets keep it simple.

I am so sick and tired of hearing all of you "staunch" republicans putting down this administration, while not one of you will own up to the eight previous years of a clueless, illiterate good ole boy who put us on this road to ruin. Would you have preferred to have John McLame as president with Sarah (Edith Bunker) Palin just a heartbeat away? Where would this country be then? In reality, what we should all do is to make a pact and present it to our leadership: if they don't put aside partisan politics and start doing what is right for the county and its citizens, we will vote them ALL out of office and start fresh. I am all for term limits, benefit limits, and no retirement package. Perhaps if we removed the glory, the publicity, the spotlight and the outrageous perks from serving in the government, then we could get some men and women in there who are serving for the right reason, to make a difference. In the meantime, Liz, I'm not certain where your hatred comes from, whether it be a true dislike of democrats, bigotry, or any other reason, put it aside and do something positive. You will wake up one day and realize you spent way too much time and energy hating.

So lets see where we are. We have a completely arbitrary number that is called the debt ceiling. We do not vote to increase this number and we lose our triple A rating and the tap closes. We have raised this number over and over again-over 100 times for the past 6 administrations- but now is the time when they are going to say "enough is enough" ...Wait. I take that back. No one is saying they are not going to raise the ceiling, what they are saying is that the attached riders, be it cuts or taxes, needed to be included right now otherwise the entire deal is off. Raise the ceiling-get on with your political agenda on the next round of voting. You don't let the house burn down because you will not let the firemen in until you decide how you will plant next years rosebushes.

Excuse me! But both sides are failing to compromise! The only way to get out our budget woes is to cut spending and raise money! both sides have refused to either cut spending, or raise taxes! They refuse to enter to give up their pet stands to end this thing.
