Chinese buffets are bi-partisan. However, I am stuffed after my third plate. I tried to avoid the soft serve, it's too fattening.

You would be surprised by how many soy bean derivatives there are way down the ingredient list that don't read as soy beans.
Hidden soy - that's true. What triggered your interest?

I thought nurse practitioners (RNs) could diagnose, no?
My sister, a nurse, floors me with her spot on advice, when solicited for such. And she does refer to patients as patients.
They are CNP's. They can legally diagnosis pending the physician they work under permission. I can write medical orders, but not all MD's allow me to do that. Most MD's allow both of the above as it saves them time, but every once in awhile, ugh, don't you dare. I had an MD once cross out my physician order with the words, "no, no, no". Ultimately, the MD is responsible for a patients care; I respect that and very few are a-holes towards ancillary professionals. My opinion, MD's know a little about a lot...I went to college for 5 years studying nutrition and the GI tract, they have had a class or two, you need to trust my opinion and my specialty.

No, never have had a cholesterol problem. But I understand that in women over 45-50, it's not an uncommon or odd thing to have happen--to become hypothyroid. Could be genetic, my mom was hypothyroid.
Genetics, age...it definitely is not uncommon. I have never heard of a link between statins and thyroid issues. Working with the elderly most common meds: statins, thyroid, diabetic.

Statistical analysis of medical data is a sideline of mine. I like to know the risks of things.

The variety with the foil envelope of cheese "sauce" is some nasty stuff. Dry is better. I mix it up with the milk and let sit while the mac is cookin'.

Hate to school ya Tony, but heavy cream makes it the mac and cheese the bomb. I would tell you my other secret, but then I would have to kill you. I'm known for my mac and cheese; white, mexican (shut up spooky), traditional. I love playing with the flavors.

I'll have to try that. I normally don't keep cream in the house.

Nor do I. Only buy it when making mac and cheese. I'm all for a splurge now and then :)
