My family doctor is a nurse practitioner and does diagnose, but can't write prescriptions.
How does that work? She looks at you and says" that is a serious infection you better go see a DO or MD"?

She does everything but write prescriptions. I've never asked what the deal is, but the MD in residence at the office has to write them.

You're confusing conservatism with racism and bigotry.

They're not the same.

I think that's how my sister works. For minor illnesses, advice, simple diagnoses, that kind of thing, she can take the workload off the MD and just ask to have a script written if antibiotics are needed. They can review medical records, do the "triage" thing, examine patients, etc. I've called her with questions before and boom! She gave me a list of questions to ask my doc, possible diagnoses, or concerns I should bring up, and darn if she wasn't on target. Amazing, she diagnosed my thyroid problem over the phone, when my doc didn't even think to pull blood to check for it.

Thyroid issues are often overlooked. Did this occur after you were on a cholesterol lowering drug?

No, never have had a cholesterol problem. But I understand that in women over 45-50, it's not an uncommon or odd thing to have happen--to become hypothyroid. Could be genetic, my mom was hypothyroid.

Just wondered. Seems to be a correlation between cholesterol lowering drugs and thyroid issues. Statistical analysis of medical data is a sideline of mine. Through autopsies are rarely done.

One therory postulated about thyroid problems is the high use of soy products by non asians.

Actually dog boy, you are the one that is confused.

While the cry of the progressive liberals continues to be "racism and bigotry" no one really cares anymore.

Could you could come up with more than a silly incendiary reply sometimes instead of spewing Alinsky talking points?

Probably not huh

Well then black rhino needs your construction engineering skills for his new strap on.

Interesting. Soy does produce phytoestrogens, which I suppose could be a link in women. But that for me, too is a negative. I can't stand soy foods. Icky, I don't eat much. Soy milk is one of THE grossest things I can think of consuming, along with tofu.

You would be surprised by how many soy bean derivatives there are way down the ingredient list that don't read as soy beans.

A gallant first step in helping the problem restaurants slowly removing the salad bars, thus giving many people no longer a chance to begin with salad and make numerous trips back for desert.

Zoe,
Not everything is politics......yet you seem to insert degrading mindless statements in every subject on the forum, no matter what the subject is.
Give it a rest already.
We all know you are conservative.
