Send cash to Jimmy so he can continue to make Olympic history as the oldest to ever achieve a gold medal.
If Barry Hussein had a white father and a black mother He could have been Carters retarded bastard offspring. They both share a hatred of freedom and a love for communism.

Eisenhower screwed up by waiting for the Russians to catch up. Should not have been a split Germany after the war.

Of course not. Where would this forum be intellectually with out some insane racism and constant death threats to those who disagree? You sure know how to pick 'em, Gammy.

There were a lot of former presidents who were really quirky!
That just goes to show you how we're all just humans with faults.

Well said. I love history too. History and Spookerini.

Today I learned that Lincoln sometimes was so emotionally affected by the state of the country that he literally could not get out of bed on some days.

My friend owns a house near here that was a tavern way back in colonial times and George Washington slept in it. Of course, it's not unusual in this area to see houses that make that claim.

Wow! That's great. Too bad it's not a bed and breakfast so they can tout that fact.
Near me, about 20 min, there was a sheep farm, owned by two sisters. I stopped one day to talk to the only surviving sister one day, to bring bags of dog food, and to see the sheep and the few dogs on the grounds. She said her grandfather kept a diary which she found, and Washington and his troops occupied her land and camped out briefly. She had such bad happenings though. Her house partially burned down and she was sleeping in her car until the city stepped in and a volunteer stepped in to help her rebuild. The land was grandfathered in for sheep farming, but the city has been trying to buy her out for decades, and she refused, repeatedly. She also was on the Historical society committee in that city. Well, she finally became I'll and unable to keep up with the taxes, then passed away. The city sold the land to .....you guessed it! A builder/developer....he built apartments on that land. I want to puke every time I pass it. Ruthless greedy bastards! I think that land should have been preserved and a park built there to commemorate the history of it. Oh well. Sorry for the rant, but everytime I talk about it I get emotional.

Eisenhower seved after the Korean war when times were good already and he spent most of his time golfing since nothing going on---Oh, he did send first military men to Viet Nam---check your history books. I disliked him because he had an affair with his military assistant/jeep driver and look up Pvt. Eddie Slovak, he had him shot for losing his way with his platoon in WWll after a battle but found another close by that he stayed with until he found his own, his mother wrote Eisenhower letters begging him not to kill him but he did anyway. Martin Sheen played the part of Slovak on a 1950's made for TV movie, I believe it still is shown on UTUBE. His own son described him as cold, seldom home and when he was he run the house and him in military fashion. No wonder Mamie drank! Carter was too religious to be in Washington, you have to be cut-throat to get the job done. Carter has been a great humanitarian and has made many good contibutions to man-kind. Carter did not have affairs and you would be hard put to find 10 presidents who didn't! Remember Jefferson, the supposedly religious one?

That is a terrible, typical story. I'm glad she didn't live to see it. A place near here, La Grange, is in court now because ot the owner/developer is trying to build on it and the state blocking it. You can google it. DE is pretty good about that. The story is when Lafayette was here, helping out the colonials, he said it reminded him of his farm in France, hence,'La Grange.' The house is in pretty good shape, although empty, and some of the out buildings are standing. I believe there is remains of a revoluntionary battle field there.
I am very interested in the history of this area. I put my land in preservation and the house is on the historical register. But it wasn't build until 1836.

LOL The lady in the house that was a tavern...she's a hoot. She cooks, she cans, she preserves, she quilts, she gardens....go, go, go. I like her. You'd like her.

Most booze since it was sold without taxes for the king. Steel tools like axe heads shovels because the king wanted the colonies dependent on England. Of course weapons not taxed by the king.
Anything remind you of the USA since the 20's getting worse through today?
