Yes, I admit it's Hitleresque to want to kill only the defectives. But so what? What use does a poofter serve me? He can't produce grandkids? He's going to disgust me thinking about what he's doing on a Friday night. And I can't stand the thought of pity from the extended family. An embarassment any way you look at it.
If you're open-minded about this subject, then more power to you. I'm not.
Thing is, life or other people's lives, are not about YOU.

Hitler-esque? It smacks of eugenics and councils who decide who is fit to live. No thank you.

What's wrong with eugenics?

We breed race horses, super-sized tomatoes and produce, and all kinds of flora and fauna. What's wrong with eugenics when it comes to man?

As a matter of fact, eugenics happens naturally as people self select based on human factors such as friendships, personality, humor, behavior and intelligence. That stuff is also eugenics and I see nothing wrong with it.

Sure it is. I have to raise it. I have to put up with it. It reflects on me.

I suggest you read Anthem, very short (like 75 page) novelette by Ayn Rand that discusses the topic. You can probably consume it in an hour. Online here:http://www.noblesoul.com/ orc/texts/anthem/complete.html . Easy read.

Eugenics do not happen unless it is an artificial construct made by social contract/law. Yes, humans self-select. But you cannot tell your offspring who they should marry/reproduce with, either. If your kids are that dependent upon you at the age of adulthood, to pick out a mate and you decide what grandchildren you are to have, I pity them. They are screwed.

Think of it this way, no one told your parents if you should be aborted or were "fit" enough to live. You're a germaphobe. Maybe we can find a test for that and eliminate them because it's indicative of OCD?

The birth rate in China is totally biased in favor of male children, but yet adult males are leaving many areas because they can't find a wife where they live.???????
There ya go. Another argument against enforced policies for aborting children due to numbers or whatever cause.

There have been changes to the law, primarily for rural or agricultural families. But from what I understand, many Chinese males are now torn between staying and leaving. Tradition is in Chinese culture generally that the eldest male takes care of the family in their old age. Many children also born in violation of this law have no legal identity.

Keep it legal, keep it discretionary. Nothing more.

Because it's "law" doesn't mean it's right, either.
Jim Crow laws once existed. Completely wrong and immoral.
I always have said, if it so obvious that life truly begins at conception, which would nullify all abortion laws, then it should be a piece of cake to get a constitutional amendment passed to that effect. 39 years and no one has even TRIED.

Yet forcing young men under 21 to serve and get killed and injured in a pointless war without being able to vote for those sending them was so obviously unfair the 26th Amendment was proposed and passed in 3 months.

That should make a person question whether being anti-abortion is on the right side of the law and history. I think the situation under Roe v. Wade is both lawful and right.

Repeat, it is impossible to abort a child. I'm done here, nothing more to discuss.

Sorry, one more, anyone who believes anything Ayn Rand said is not playing with a full deck. She was a complete loser.

Mixed metaphors? Going from abortion to the draft (which hasn't been in force since Nam) is a bit of a stretch.

Repeat, it's impossible to prove your stance yet. Biologically it still has 23 pairs of chromosomes from conception. Law is typically based on opinion. Science itself isn't decided on when human life begins. Also why do we then have laws that grant the right to pursue criminal negligence or murder if an unborn child/fetus is killed along with a mother in a car accident or by crime?

It's impossible to be so cocksure of yourself unless you're a schizophrenic author, eh?

The look of pity from the extended family?

You admitting that this is something that has crept into the extended family somewhere? Something that you folks have actually experienced?

Here's a clue. If you hide your gay kid from the family or hang your head and wring your hands and wonder what you did wrong to deserve such a fate--well then pitying looks are understandable. If you recognize that your adult child who is gay is still fundamentally the same person you carried home from the hospital and taught to ride a bike and shared Disney movies with and prayed for and dreamed of a future for--well the rest of the folks generally get the message.

Odds are you are not the only one.

Grow up.

Ok, coming back to answer this ONE egregious error of yours. The "metaphors" are soldiers (i.e., actual people) being killed against their will vs fetuses being aborted. The first case was fixed by amendment, the second one has not. Clear enough?

I NEVER said my wife was dying. In any of my personalities. You need some reading comprehension lessons.

You love it when I come back. I can change my mind anytime I want. I am not beholden to you. Sounds to me like you are trying to remove my First Amendment Rights. Some conservative you are.

Every single American serviceman has been a VOLUNTEER since 1973. Occupational hazards exist in every line of work. Twice as many truck drivers died on the job during the years of the Iraq war than did US military personnel.
As for your "wife," you made her out to be worse than dead in your sleazy little charade.

You're off the hinges now. How can another poster remove your First Amendment rights? Are you aware the First Amendment applies only to government suppression of speech? Topix can shut anyone down because they own this place, Sterling. But Billy Bob and the US government can't.
How f'ed in the head are you?

What else in your world makes a child defective? As a Mom, I love my children unconditionally. Have my children ever embarrassed or disappointed me? Yes. Have I ever embarrassed or disappointed them? Yes. Part of the definition of family, in my world, is accepting and loving each other warts and all.

Huh, learned something new. Homosexuals only have sex on Friday nights. Apparently, Saturday though Thursday, homosexuals aren't disgusting in Bobby's world.

It's Friday, if you're gay, have fun.

The question is unanswerable. You cannot abort a child. You can legally abort a fetus. If you kill a child, that's homicide.
I disagree with you on this (although I usually agree and especially your assessment of Ayn Rand). Some states legally consider it a child because if the mother is killed, the person causing her death can be charged in the death of the child, be it murder, vehicular homicide or some other circumstances. Also the word fetus is an issue. A human fetus is a stage of HUMAN development. Other stages: infant, toddler, child, teen, adult.
