So I guess your return isn't all bad.
I disagree, he's smarter than the average Topix leftist. I generally consider Kosmik to be the most intelligent, though nuts, and Real Tea Party to clearly be the dumbest, followed by Che and then Reader.

Kosmik subscribes to AGW.
Sterling-ModernMan-Author-Kemo sahbe is against voter ID.
(Apparently, he can't locate all four photo IDs.)

Enough said.

Real tea party is a kid. At least he is on topix and sometimes like a blind squirrel finding a nut is on the right side. Instead of here he could be watching Islamic goat porn.

I generally consider human emissions to the in the minority cause of global warming, most of it is probablycaused by natural processes.

The alarmists have a different agenda, they want the west to wreck its economy and let the Chinese and Indians rule. If they were really scared, the Chinese would be the main targets as they pollute the most.

Given that we caused Acid Rain, attributing some warming (heat island effect) to humans is a certainty. Cap and trade won't do much other than be another tax.

Sure it does. It also talks about the difference between southern democrats and northern democrats. The party known as the GOP today would not have been in favor of many of the policies that came about during the first half of the 20th century.

There isn't. I read about it daily in the media. I have also posted before about why BOTH (yes, both) sides of the political fence haven't been putting a huge emphasis on this story. Claiming there's a conspiracy isn't the same as there actually being a conspiracy.

Your second point is a perfect reason why we should never have and should not ever admit Muslims to this country...not even on business or as tourists.
Dr. Tiller performed abortions. That's the only part we will agree on with that topic. Regardless of what he did, the man who killed him was acting on some religious belief that Dr. Tiller should be executed. His morals compelled him to these actions. That is not any different than the morals and religious beliefs of others which compel them to be recalcitrant and become extremists.

I doubt there will ever be a policy restricting access to this country based on religious beliefs. In the same regard, I think any religious extremist - including Christians - should be incarcerated or sent to someplace else and let the rest of us live in peace.

The GOP has always been the pro-business party.

Calvin Coolidge's ideas are still widely held in the GOP.

The idea that the parties switched sides in 1964-1968 is a myth.

What existed before that was a liberal wing located in the Northeast, which is now gone.

The Democrats had a conservative wing in the South and in the Mountain West (believe it or not they once had Senators from Wyoming). That no longer exists outside of Montana, though John Barrow is the lone remnant in the South.

What it meant was that political parties would no longer be big tents, but ideological movements. That's why people complain about the "partisanship" even though the "party" has almost no power other than raising money. Three line whips don't exist here, people like Rand Paul can get elected despite no "party" support.

Are you aware that blacks were mostly Republicans before FDR's presidency? Are you also aware that Woodrow Wilson was a Democrat and a racist? And are you aware of the relatively small percentage of blacks who lived in the pre-Great Depression North vs the South. Oh, and in the first 30 years of the 20th century are you aware of the animosity between blacks in cities like New York and Boston toward Italian and Irish immigrants who made up and controlled the Democratic Party?

We blocked people of specific Chinese ancestry in the past, we block former Nazis/Communists to this day.

We can block Muslims. We simply need the majorities, or in my case, a country of our own. While you liberals get the refugees when we end the transfers.

But the grisly stories of Gosnell [born-alive aborted babies drowning in toilets] might advance abortion restrictions. And we can't have that.
Not true. The right wasn't keen on covering many details of this story either. Gosnell's trial has the capacity to stir up realizations on both sides. Partially for the reason you stated, and for the right, because it would bring up the fact that this is what happens when you deny women access to affordable early-term abortions. They are forced to resort to someone like Gosnell whose clientele largely consisted of low-income people and minorities.

Our children are living with fear due to the insane immigration policies of the 1965 Immigration Act and reverse racism.
Funny, I believe that's the same argument the gun control advocates are using. Doesn't seem to phase the guns rights people.

Our children aren't living in fear because of immigrants. Pretty much every mass shooting that has taken place was by someone who lived in this country.

Ancient history.

Mpfn1979 is simply repeating the natural leftist line that it was the Southern Strategy which is how the GOP got back into power (never mind that Nixon never needed Southern electoral votes to win).

Despite being a racist, Wilson actually got a higher share of the black vote than the preceding Democrat did. Why? Because he was a progressive.

That is the sole difference, during the 1890s-1910s the Progressives controlled both political parties, in 1932 they took control of the Democrats under a different name and have remained their since. They lost control of the GOP in 1920, regained it in 1940, and then lost in for good in 1964.

People from the non-Southern parts of the country recall both parties as big tents, which the Democrats pretend to be, and that's why the GOP is called extremist. In the South, everyone ran as a Democrat, and there were liberals elected from the South, though in the minority.

Prior to the 1890s, both parties were actually conservative. That's how Ron Paul calls Democrat Grover Cleveland his favorite President.

For an explanation of this, please note the primary results.

Yes, Nixon actually got 20% of the D primary vote.

You're right. They didn't deserve it. Neither did the Newtown children. Neither did the people killed in Colorado. Neither did anyone killed by any type of violence committed by psychopaths.
