Guess we'll see in the end. Unless his name is Clark Kent, you are not likely to survive that one.

Why let facts get in the way of a dumb post, eh?

I feel like doing the same thing every Monday morning myself. Unless I am off work that day.

Well, if he was trying to end his life he sure chose a bad way to do it. Now his family along with the truck driver will need help too.

I hope everything works out in the end.

Holy cow, if this was the case, you'd think he would have looked at oncoming traffic before running across. It's not like hubcaps keep on going and going. You're going to get it eventually.

The only reason people let themselves get into a situation like this is because of money and materialistic things. Just remember when it comes right down to the end...you can't take it with you. Wait until the market crashes (and it will) and you'll surely see more of this. I've lost nearly everything and my home is next...but I not materialistic so I'm handling it better then most. If this was suicide then this poor guy will be disappointed to find out he was unsuccessful ...and more likely crippled for life, mentally and physically.

But if it was for a hubcap...no matter how much it was worth..it's not worth risking your life for. See, just as I said...people make material things top priority and it's wrong.

I didn't mean to be too harsh on the first poster, but if the Dispatch rearranges the sentences it would be clearer that he didn't die. For example, compare the original text to this:

Columbus police are trying to figure out why a man parked his car on I-270 on the West Side early this morning and ran in front of a tractor-trailer.

The man, whose name has not been released, was taken to Mount Carmel West hospital in critical condition.

Details remain sketchy, but Sgt. Rich Weiner said witnesses watched the man jump from his stopped car and dart in front of the southbound semi at 6:39 a.m. A portion of the southbound freeway, near I-70, was closed for about an hour.

'Tis all in how it's presented.

"MAN HIT BY TRUCK ON WEST SIDE IN CRITICAL CONDITION" would have been a lot simpler.

and I agree with you, folks on here are making jokes when nothing is harder than a loved one who actually does committ sucide becasue there are no answers, it is all unknown. grow up and get some manners. if you do not have something sympathetic to say to the family then shut up.

The person in the article is my nephew...

I beg you to remember what you were taught in elementary school - if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all!!!

I am not condoning suicidal behavior, but why can't people just take pills or something non-messy if they want to end their own lives? I can't imagine the counseling others may need after witnessing something like this. Especially the semi driver. It's not fair.
