...When Barton questioned Cheryl Campbell about whether she was aware that users of the Obamacare website "have no reasonable expectation of privacy", she said she was aware, but that it was not her decision.

When Barton asked her if this was a violation of the HIPAA law on the privacy of one's medical records, Campbell said that this was not a decision which was under her jurisdiction, claiming she was only a contractor, and did not get involved in legalities.

Then Barton asked her, "Are you an American citizen?" She said, "Yes." And, this is when he said, "You know it's not HIPAA-compliant, admit it."

She still would not take any responsibility for having built a website whose governing rules are a violation of Federal privacy laws.

When Barton asked Campbell in whose hands the responsibility lay, she said, "IT IS A BODY OF PEOPLE."

I heard this testimony on the radio yesterday. It reminded me of the War Crimes trials of Nazi leaders after WWII, where one leader after another declared, in the face of evidence of their crimes, "I WAS ONLY FOLLOWING ORDERS."

And while that is bad enough, quite frankly, this testimony from Cheryl Campbell also reminded me of the Soviet Union.

We are being led by a government of unelected bureaucrats who are not responsible to anyone for the policies they carry through, and do not know from whence the policies emanate.

As Vaclav Havel wrote:

"...[Socialism] touches people at every step, but it does so with its ideological gloves on.

This is why life in the system is so thoroughly permeated with hypocrisy and lies: government by bureaucracy is called popular government; the working class is enslaved in the name of the work ing class; the complete degradation of the individual is presented as his ultimate liberation; depriving people of information is called making it available; the use of power to manipulate is called the public control of power, and the arbitrary abuse of power is called observing the legal code; the repression of culture is called its development; the expansion of imperial influence is presented as support for the oppressed..."

Is there another site that requires you to place personal info including Social Security Number to BROWSE the site?

I can Browse hundreds of retail sites freely without registering ANY information. It's not till you decide to buy that the required information is requested to complete the purchase.

I believe this as done on purpose to keep the people from learning the the cost of the plans and especially since the browser was eliminated prior to the sites launch.

It's important to remember that the fine is NOT a fine for not being covered by Healthcare Ins. it's a tax/ That's how it got through the Supreme Court by declaring it a TAX.

It's also important to remember that the TAX for not having insurance is NOT $95.00 PER PERSON in your family not covered (in the first year) BUT $95 or 1% of family income whichever is greater.

If you have a family income of $50,000 your fine would be $500.00.

READ THE LAW!!!!!!!!!!

I would urge all Veterans to apply for VA for insurance. It's free and it qualifies.

First Lady Michelle Obama’s Princeton classmate is a top executive at the company that earned the contract to build the failed Obamacare website.

Toni Townes-Whitley, Princeton class of ’85, is senior vice president at CGI Federal, which earned the no-bid contract to build the $678 million Obamacare enrollment website at Healthcare.gov . CGI Federal is the U.S. arm of a Canadian company.

Townes-Whitley and her Princeton classmate Michelle Obama are both members of the Association of Black Princeton Alumni....

Now what is (12,000/24,000) x 100?

And how is CGI responsible for the fact that HUD has been slow in releasing funding?

Now, you reveal how completely unaware you are of the enormous cost overruns related to the Obamacare website.

Just wow.
Living up to the Low Information Voter stereotype.
The DNC would be proud.

Cost overruns are just a drop in the bucket but when you add up the drop it fills the bucket.

There are dozens of Federal Contractors who owe millions of dollars in unpaid taxes. A bill was passed in the House that if a Contractor owed taxes to the Federal government that they would be barred from receiving any work or allowed to bid on contracts until they were current in their taxes owed.

Sounds like a no brainer!!!

It's been sitting in the Senate for years with no action taken on it.

About 98,000 federal, postal and congressional employees owed $1.03 billion in unpaid taxes at the end of fiscal 2010, according to records provided by the Internal Revenue Service. The total number of delinquent employees dipped slightly from 2009, but the amount owed jumped by $32 million.

Your Government at work, so to speak.

CGI is not a creative free spirit from Jersey City with an impressive mastery of Twitter, but a Canadian corporate behemoth. Indeed, CGI is so Canadian their name is French: Conseillers en Gestion et Informatique. Their most famous government project was for the Canadian Firearms Registry. The registry was estimated to cost in total $119 million, which would be offset by $117 million in fees. That’s a net cost of $2 million. Instead, by 2004 the CBC (Canada’s PBS) was reporting costs of some $2 billion — or a thousand times more expensive.

Yeah, yeah, I know, we’ve all had bathroom remodelers like that. But in this case the database had to register some 7 million long guns belonging to some two-and-a-half to three million Canadians. That works out to almost $300 per gun — or somewhat higher than the original estimate for processing a firearm registration of $4.60. Of those $300 gun registrations, Canada’s auditor general reported to parliament that much of the information was either duplicated or wrong in respect to basic information such as names and addresses.

Sound familiar?

Also, there was a 1-800 number, but it wasn’t any use.

Sound familiar?

So it was decided that the sclerotic database needed to be improved.

Sound familiar?

But it proved impossible to “improve” CFIS (the Canadian Firearms Information System). So CGI was hired to create an entirely new CFIS II, which would operate alongside CFIS I until the old system could be scrapped. CFIS II was supposed to go operational on January 9, 2003, but the January date got postponed to June, and 2003 to 2004, and $81 million was thrown at it before a new Conservative government scrapped the fiasco in 2007. Last year, the government of Ontario canceled another CGI registry that never saw the light of day — just for one disease, diabetes, and costing a mere $46 million.

Naturally, this administration has only heard of the concept of "vetting" when conservatives are involved. And the media operates the same way.

First Lady Michelle Obama and her Princeton classmate whose company received the no-bid government contract to build the HealthCare.gov Obamacare website were both members of a black student organization that caused a tense scene on campus by inviting a PLO leader who advocated for terrorism.

Michelle Obama ’85 and her classmate Toni Townes-Whitley ’85, a senior vice president at CGI Federal, were both students at the university when their groups the Organization of Black Unity (OBU) and the Third World Center (TWC) engaged in a confrontation with Jewish students on campus.

Michelle Obama was a member of both the OBU and TWC during her time at Princeton (1981-85). Townes-Whitley also belonged to OBU and TWC.

“It was an ugly scene, but few expected perfect harmony when the OBU, in conjunction with the Third World Center (TWC), invited Hassan Rahman, the Palestine Liberation Organization’s deputy UN observer, to appear on campus,” according to a January 25, 1982 Princeton Alumni Weekly (Volume 82) article entitled “War of Words” in the column “On the Campus” by Ted Lempert ’83.

Rahman “reiterated the PLO’s position that the Palestinians deserve a homeland and that they are entitled to use terrorism to achieve their goal, just as American revolutionaries did against the British.”

“We have the right to kill them if they are traitors and negotiate with the Israelis,” Rahman said of non-PLO supporting Palestinians at the event....

...

Obama and Toni Townes-Whitley, senior vice president at CGI Federal, are now both members of the Association of Black Princeton Alumni.

Toni Townes ’85 is a onetime policy analyst with the General Accounting Office and previously served in the Peace Corps in Gabon, West Africa. Her decision to return to work, as an African-American woman, after six years of raising kids was applauded by a Princeton alumni publication in 1998.

George Schindler, the president for U.S. and Canada of the Canadian-based CGI Group, CGI Federal’s parent company, became an Obama 2012 campaign donor after his company gained the Obamacare website contract.

As reported by the Washington Examiner in early October, the Department of Health and Human Services reviewed only CGI’s bid for the Obamacare account. CGI was one of 16 companies qualified under the Bush administration to provide certain tech services to the federal government. A senior vice president for the company testified this week before The House Committee on Energy and Commerce that four companies submitted bids, but did not name those companies or explain why only CGI’s bid was considered.
