Biden: Executive orders, action can be taken on guns
Vice President Joseph R. Biden vowed action on gun control from President Obama on Wednesday and floated the idea that Mr. Obama could use executive action to do so.
“The president is going to act,” Mr. Biden said, speaking briefly before a meeting with gun safety and gun victims’ groups Wednesday.“There are executive orders, executive action that can be taken. We haven’t decided what that is yet. But we’re compiling it all with the help [of] the attorney general and all the rest of the cabinet members as well as legislative action we believe is required.”

How do you see this Civil War playing out? Let's say Obama signs an executive order regarding a ban on assault weapons. Then what?

George, my oldest and best friend is exactly what you describe. A former Army Ranger and lives in the sticks with his guns and dogs. We used to pull a Hunter Thompson and drink lots of whiskey and shoot guns but now we've mellowed into just shooting and having a cup of coffee.
He despises Obama but he loves his country more than such. I know lot's of guys who fit your description and being 'true conservatives' they'd shoot your rear end in a heartbeat for being a chickenhawk poser.
A chicken hawk poser? And what justifies that remark? My lack of military service?
Contrary to what you may believe, this isn't the world of "Starship Troopers" when it comes to citizenship.

Executive order contrary to the second amendment of the constitution would be.treason. The gutless left lunatics on the supreme court including Roberts have reading comprehension problems. Those problems can be corrected through the use of our God given and written down by wise old men rigjt to keep and bear arms. It then is up to citizens to exercise that right or become a subject aka slave to the government.
Passing a law that violates a constitutional right is treason? Wow. There have been a whole lot of treasonous folks in our government through the years, huh?

You keep saying that it is up to the citizens to exercise their right or become slaves. How exactly do you envision that being done in this scenario?

If it involves confiscation, then expect armed opposition by many. The government will have a PR disaster on its hands within days, especially when they repeat the Waco debacle, except many times over in this case.

Remember this?

Imagine how that plays out on the internet when it's done thousands of times in search of firearms in private homes.

I highly doubt there will be any effort at confiscation. By memory alone, it would be unprecendented in American history.

So if the weapons become illegal to possess and the law is enforced just like any other, no civil war?

Less chance in that case. And you'd better not ban inheritances, because that's confiscation by attrition. So is restricting ammunition. But when the next mass shooting takes place, what will you propose?
Mental health is the issue, but it isn't being discussed at all.

You people had the activist courts shut down the mental health infrastructure 40 years ago. You just had a bogus fiscal deal last week that didn't cut a dime in spending. Take some money from your precious Obamacare and use it for mental health programs.

That would be backdoor confiscation. You're right back to scenario number one.

Maybe the Obama family can take one less vacation or go to camp David. That might save some money.

We could also stop giving tax refunds to those on welfare, Medicaid, HUD, etc. when they put no money into the cookie jar. That would save billions alone.

Or "savior of the planet" Al Gore could make a donation, now that his net worth is now greater than that of that "evil, rich, out of touch guy" Mitt Romney.

LMFAO...yeah Reagan did and it was wrong when he did it....

I love the way you libs always resort to....well didn't XXXX do it to?

fn hilarious frankly.......

As for obama he declared de facto unconstitutional amnesty by executive fiat.

That's where you and George get into trouble with false assumptions. I supported Gary Johnson, he only got about a million votes. I didn't whine because realistically from reading polls it was assured Obama would be re-elected.
Spending bills originate in the House. Obama puts out a budget and Congress either accepts or rejects it. Who's been in control of the House for the past few years and how many bills cutting spending did they put forward? They put several tax cuts forward but less revenue at this time is unwise.
There would be those pesky budgets the house has passed that harry ignored.....

Never served, no matter what Daddy may have said to you, always been a suburb dweller and talk with a toughness from a keyboard that you don't have the courage to back up in real life.

Have you ever faced a weapon? Have you ever been in a real time confrontation? People who have and who were trained to deal with such only want a thank you from your type and political support.

You don't seem to want to grant them either.

There's nothing in the second amendment about ammunition, you're stretching here.

For many years they've been keeping tabs on unusually large ammo purchases.

I'm a pro-second amendment fellow, I'd rather see more guns in the hands of the right people than who is handling them now. Based merely on humanity, we're discovering there is something flawed with open access. The criminals will have them no matter what, if we had a way to disarm the crazy and the felons I'd be all for that.

Very simply switch to a transaction tax of 1% to replace income, corporate and capitals gains revenues, that would solve our money problems. As well, the people who perform the risky short term transactions that put our economy at risk will be paying their fair share and likely won't be as careless as they have.
