No, I'm not thankful. I'm sorry that anybody died, but at least for the past 40 years they picked their line of work. I didn't force them to do it.
And another thing: It really gets on my nerves when I hear someone say "thank you for your service." I hate unoriginality. I hate lemmings. I hate copycats!

yes you cheering me on with a bud light in one hand; and swinging your bra with the other....that would be a cheer.
I would need backup only if I had to fight you.
he would not be the first that weighed twice as much as me, to take a ride in the ambulance. Being taught to survive in case you lost your weapon was high priority of the boss.
size does not dictate destruction; but skills from training do.
PS: I am smart enough not to start with you, I have fun with my jewels, as I am a newlywed.
Much better to feed you, get you some bud lights, and enjoy your company.
Were you involved in the 1993 Battle of Mogidishu? If you don't want to answer I understand.

No, I think he was talking about my discussion with Toby Blevins if the cross on his face was a Nazi Iron Cross or a Maltese Cross.

Zero reflection on my part. Have nothing against the military, but I don't put them on a pedestal either. Most of the wars during my lifetime have been just plain stupid. A stupid waste of money and life.
If it comes down to it all wars are stupid, that does not mean we shouldn't honor the men and women that sacrificed for our country. I spend more than just one day reflecting about that.

Like Dimitri Medvediev ..... the most devout Orthodox Christian in Russia ..... who incidentally comes from Jewish heritage. LMAO!
Keep munching those Faux News "Freedom Fries".
You obviously have a severe tendency to automatically ASSume. I am neither a "wannabe" nor a "he" as I am a female who retired after 28 years on active duty. I'll gladly put up one month's retirement pay ($3845.50) against your undescended left testicle in exchange for a 30-second face-to-face bitch-slapping match. If you're up to the challenge, you need to spend at least a month repeatedly running back & forth across I-270 while blindfolded during morning & evening rush hours to maximize your pain tolerance.

After all the hot air about duty honor and country is over it always boils down to money to the government leeches.

What we need is a national holiday to honor the sacrifices the citizens make so the government parasites can have their relatively munificent pay and benefits and retirement which they could never achieve in the real world. Hey veterans, when is the last time you thanked a citizen for your paycheck?

Why should a veteran thank a "citizen" for their paycheck? Military pay comes from the defense budget which is supported by federal taxes paid by "citizens" and all military personnel are also "citizens" who pay federal taxes right along with non-military civilians.

Every "citizen" has the opportunity to serve in the military and thus those who forego doing so or cannot meet the qualifications have only themselves to blame if their civilian job compensation is less than the pay, retirement, and benefits received by military personnel. I volunteered to wear a military uniform for 28 years and at 48 years old I feel no guilt whatsoever over being well-compensated with military retirement and benefits for the rest of my life. Please feel free to expound upon what YOU were doing between 1982-2010 to justify similar compensation by the government.

I invite you to visit the nearest VA hospital so you can personally tell a veteran who is missing an arm or leg how you feel they are a "government parasite". Attend a military funeral and explain to a grieving spouse, parent or child how happy you are to see another "government leech" being put to rest. Walk among the 300,000-plus dead veterans at Arlington National Cemetary while waving your banner demanding "a national holiday to honor the sacrifices citizens make". Ask a veteran who has been deployed for 18 months to the deserts of the Mid-East without air conditioning or so much as a fan to define the meaning of "hot air".

Veterans do not expect hero worship or special treatment as some have claimed in this thread. However, they should be offered at least a nod of respect for their service on just two days out of 365 each year: Memorial Day which honors military personnel who have died and Veterans Day which honors all military personnel. Sadly, this thread and the Columbus topix forum as a whole highlights several individuals such as you who are incapable of showing respect to others because you have no respect for yourselves.

As I have stated before, earning money takes minutes out of your day and life. These are minutes that are spent at work or in some commercial pursuit, when they could have been used spending time with your family, friends, loved ones or even pursuing a hobby or something you love to do.
When they take money out of your pocket and transfer it to someone else, they are taking minutes of your life. So, yes, there should be a day of remembrance to honor the lives of taxpayers.
Don't forget, and I wonder how many people know, it takes 9 REMFs (rear echelon mother f***ers) to support 1 soldier actually taking and giving fire. I respect dudes who wear a combat infantry badge (or it's equivalent in other services) a hell of a lot more than ones who didn't qualify.

As you whine about time being precious, tell it to the countless veterans who have spilled their blood on terra incognita or the innocent victims of 9/11 whose lives were snuffed out by terrorists without being afforded a final few seconds to say goodbye to their loved ones. Your attempt to morph yet another topic into one of your asinine rantings is beyond pathetic Enzyte Bob. However, I must confess I do enjoy reading your comments because each one reinforces my belief that no matter how bad my day is, it could be a helluva lot worse... I could be you.

what does line 61 say on your 1040?

do you pay income tax, or just fantasize about the day you might?
