Just a thought. Most of those who serve, as my father was, are very young. My dad? 17 YO when he got his hitch into the Air Corp in 1943. Those who serve find uncommon valor and bravery in them. I defy you to say this to a young returning vet who has come back with a missing limb or two or dealing with PTSD from what they have witnessed. And yet, they return and still contribute to this nation in many ways. They do not ask for, or demand, that anyone recognize them. Most vets are quite humble.<quoted text>
I don't have a problem with vets. I'm just not going to play along with treating him like a walking saint. I'm just not into that.
And the point of this is Memorial Day. A day to remember those who were lost in war. A pause for reflection. Another word I'm not sure you understand. What have you done for your country?
