we have spun from tourists to those with work visa in a single bound.<quoted text>
The IRS says "Resident aliens, in general, have the same liability for Social Security/Medicare Taxes that U.S. Citizens have."
Even more interesting, if you're a non resident alien doing some work in the US on a short contract, you're still going to wind up paying these taxes.
Being a non citizen doesn't really get you out of anything but jury duty.
illegals are not paying taxes other than what a tourist does, unless they have a work visa, or are going through process of becoming legal.
a social security number is required to pay taxes.
again as a reminder, you spun from tourist to a foreigner actually working and living here is a single bound.
if an employer reports payments to an entity or person, they have to also report it to IRS so they can deduct it as an expense. We call this a 1099 in America.
1099's written to a fake name and social security number, the US Treasury never see's tax payments on.
