and with all this great enrollment after the epic failure of a basic web site and a billion wasted dollars..........has anyone actually paid January's premium for any insurance policy yet?

or is it that only medicaid is actually up with the government paying the premium's?

Has anyone....anyone rushed to actually pay for a policy demanded by federal law that raises deductibles, and forces change in whom they see for medical care, at a more expensive cost?

I am laughing at those who see success in any way with what has occurred.

I will just have to pay the fine. It is cheaper to continue with the way I have with medical care and pay the fine er I mean tax than to buy a policy that is way over priced to cover things I can't possibly use. May John Roberts get Necrotizing fasciitis and die painfully. Damn traitor.

Remember the tax is not $95.00 this year for not having insurance, it's $95.00 OR 1% of income WHICH EVER IS GREATER.

The media is not telling or stressing that point.

Make $20,000. Tax will be $200.00

Check the details on how much you may pay for EACH family member.

The media is also not calling it a TAX, of course they call it a FINE but it would not have gotten past SCOTUS without the FINE being a TAX

If you look at the polling for obama you'll see that there isn't much sway one way or the other. His polling shows rather consistent polling around 50% one way or the other shifting back and forth.

Even now it's at a 54% disapproval. Being realistic that's only 4 points from half of the country APPROVING.

What does that say for the AMERICAN PEOPLE. We are on the verge of a Socialist Society.

I'm wondering how many blacks are going to pay the penalty? It is after all a YT law, and we see how they act under all of YT's other laws.

This is just the warmup. Wait until next year when tens of millions lose their employer provided healthcare plan, then the ship will really hit the fan.

It can't be a tax. Remember?

"I promise that if elected, nobody making less than $250.000 per year will see a new tax of any kind. No new federal tax, sales tax, no taxes."

Technically he didn't break that one. Though it was not argued as a tax before the Supreme Court they declared it one. Neither side presented the Fine as a Tax.

In its ruling last week on the national health care law, the Supreme Court found that penalties the law places on people who don't buy health insurance count as a tax protected by the Constitution.

The Obama administration had argued that the fees should be considered a penalty. But the government also argued that the individual mandate can be viewed as constitutional under Congress' powers of taxation.

The high court rejected the "penalty" argument.

"The payment is not so high that there is really no choice but to buy health insurance; the payment is not limited to willful violations, as penalties for unlawful acts often are; and the payment is collected solely by the (Internal Revenue Service) through the normal means of taxation," Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in the decision.

The court noted that the law calls for no other punishments for refusal to buy health insurance.

Two problems here:

First of all, the "taxes" increase as time goes on for not having healthcare. Until we get a real President and a somewhat conservative Congress, expect the feds to keep taking more and more money as long as this abortion is law of the land. It may only be a couple of bucks now, but it won't be in five or ten years.

Secondly, DumBama did break his promise within the first few weeks of his first term. One of his first measures was to place a sin tax on tobacco products. It was no fine either, it was a real tax. Most smokers make less than $250,000 because statistically, smokers are lower to middle-class.
