Richard III's Remains Found

LONDON—Researchers said the long-lost remains of King Richard III have been found and identified—after sitting under what is now a parking lot in the English Midlands for more than 500 years.

The findings appear to solve a centuries-old mystery involving one of England's most-storied rulers, who has remained in the public fascination through a Shakespeare play and Hollywood movies.

University of Leicester researchers said at a news conference Monday that DNA tests on bones recently unearthed in an archaeological dig in Leicester match samples taken from two living descendants of Richard's sister. A separate skeletal analysis showed striking similarities between the unearthed bones and features Richard was said to have had, they said.

Now is the winter of our discontent
Made glorious summer by this sun of York...

Richard had at least 2-3 illegitimate children. So are the Europeans any better with familial relationships than say the Tudors? <Ha!> I'll bet a dime Bobby will defend to the death that it was necessary to save the throne and "to the manor born?"

Wicked, insane man. Was thought to be a brave warrior. Likely he was insane due to syphillis.

Sorry, can't help it since Bobby is *the* AUTHORITY on familial relationships and pooping out babies.(And I have a few hours on my hands to kill.)

The wealthy and the elite always had different rules they lived by because they had enough money and/or power to not be affected by their debauchery. The lowest rungs of society also lived this way.

However, the wide swath of European civilization from the peasants to the Kulaks did not live this way. They either believed (or were afraid of) the teachings of the Bible, or they knew the financial effects of living this lifestyle is the road to financial ruin.

In fact, even though it is said that most Europeans are not overtly religious, and they aren't from the standpoint of attending church every Sunday, they still live their lifestyles largely according to the old rules. It is cultural in Europe and the proper way for a person to behave.

They didn't have a bunch of Protestant leftists who were so quick to let themselves get brainwashed by Jewish anarchists, either.

The English are not Europeans, by the way. They are Anglos and have a somewhat different and more individualist cultural background.

However, as previously illustrated, even the English and the Canadians have social dysfunction at half the rate America does.

I would seriously doubt that royalty suffered any repercussions from carousing. "I am the king, get thee hence, harlot". lmao

I think the perfect example of what you're talking about is how we plebes are trained with the idea that we are not supposed to commit mortal sins.

If you read the article, you'll see that he supposedly offed a couple of his relatives so he could become King. Likewise, it's okay for George Bush and Dyck Cheney to war on people and kill them by the thousands, but heaven forbid if plebe would want to settle a score. He's going to burn in hell!!! LOL ... Likewise with all the other monarchs who also serve as heads of their churches and all the evil the were responsible for.

Cracking me up Rowdy. This is exactly the point I'm making. Watch me yank Bobby's chain some more with this thought:

There's all kinds of flip flop around here about how the "wealthy" -- today's "royalty" send a "bad message" to the masses. Look at the wealthy rappers, movie stars, etc. They do drive today's styles, morality, and lifestyles to a point. They do glorify, quite often, liberalism, violence (rap music particularly is violent often), and yes...hypersexuality.

Bobby, you're up next...

Oh damn. I didn't see your response. I disagree with that "plebes" shouldn't commit mortal sins. You diss those who "poop" out babies and complain to high heaven about what they cost you and yet look at your modern royalty... Flavor Flav? How many baby mommies? Ice-T? Been to prison and has a few baby mommies. Hollywood, anyone? Lindsay Lohan? Paris Hilton? All of these people are "successful" and "admired" and not only glamorize but legitimize really atrocious behavior.(Personally I find Flavor Flav hilarious, but not for the "right" reasons. Ever watch the way he had women competing for him? Um, wow.)

Double standard.

And yes, Brits are European. They just don't consider themselves as part of the "continent." They're also snobs enough (not a bad thing) to realize their Anglo heritage.
