You don't understand what the Catholic Church was doing. And that is exactly what I am saying. Because my way is the moral way and my way is the legal way. The church's way was immoral and illegal.
I understand exactly what the catholic church was doing and it isn't what you are saying. They despicably covered up the molestations of children, pulled a lib stunt and yelled at the priests and moved them elsewhere to start over instead of bringing the full wrath of the law onto them. The church thought more about themselves then making the priests pay for that they did. You are trying to equate that with approval of the action which it is not. It no more approval of an action then it is when a liberal judge gives a criminal a break or the parole board lets him out early approved of the recidivism that happened.

You are correct in that the church's way was immoral and illegal, however, that does not mean they condoned or encouraged pedophilia. That is a huge difference between them and Islam.

Those laws probably came into place after the scandal started.
Nope. But clergy aren't mandatory reporters except for very limited circumstances.

And depending on the state and year possibly refusing to abide by mandatory reporting rules.
let me school you a bit.

A priest committed rape to children. An Archbishop covered it up.

That is not the entire catholic church.

just like you liberals to knee jerk everything out of proportion.

a single whack jobs goes on a killing spree, ban guns.

The Archbishop is guilty of the crimes you post above, not the church.

The priest committed child rape, not the church.

A whack job killed 20 kids, not the nation.

It's pretty hard to frame hiding the allegations and reassigning the offenders to continue to offend, unchecked, as anything other than condoning the acts...
If you had pay attention to the scandal, you would know they did not reassign them to reoffend. They reassigned them and punished them within the church and they ended up re-offending. The church punishment simply was not enough to discourage the issue and that is a far cry from condoning even if it was ineffectual and self serving.

You would be shocked by the length and breadth of the law. If it's out of your area/specialization, it's usually safer not to make a stab at something you're not going to know much about. I don't really know anything about mandatory reporting laws in the US (aside from the fact that they exist) and aren't even sure if they exist here (I imagine that they must).
I would be a bit more suspicious of someone who claims to always has the answer to a legal question.
As I said to Che, I think that part of the ORC should be pretty elementary for one who has passed the bar.

This one:

On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.

I don't think morally straight and sexually straight are the same things.

Worse, 80 percent of the sexual offenses in the Church were homosexual in nature, and now the leftists are demanding that homosexuals be allowed in the Scouts.

Cognitive dissonance of epic proportion.

Let's review some important clarifications here. Something happening and something being condoned or encouraged as a religious practice are totally different things. You were claiming that the practice was defined, condoned, encouraged. Now you are saying only that it happens. Which is it?
Next--you claimed that there were multiple fatwahs in support of the practice. When asked, you give the old fallback--just google it. Do you actually know that there have been fatwahs or not? Do you know what at fatwah is? Do you know what a body of such opinions have been issued across time? Do you suppose that all have been in absolute agreement?
Now then, if you are actually such an Islam expert (as opposed to someone who just believes whatever someone puts up on youtube), you should be able to intelligently discuss such things. On the other hand, if you are just dribbling the usual drivel, well, it is what it is.
Please follow along. It happened with the Catholic Church. People who became members molested children and the church tries to hide it and take care of it from within and failed on all accounts.

Islam worships a prophet who was an illiterate pedophile and has religious declarations stating it is ok to molest little kids.

As for the fatwas, I'm serious, look it up, there are plenty of examples, I even gave you the terms to search. This isn't hand holding here. I do expect you to put some effort forward. Do a google search on Thighing Islam and you will have more then enough examples.

Oh, and I never claimed to be an expert on islam, I claimed it was a religion founded around a pedophile molesting a little girl and that because of that, sick perverts claim it is a religious right for them to be allowed to molest children also and have clergy backing that assertion up.

It looks like in most states (I would really imagine all but aren't going to research each one!) clergy are required to participate in reporting acts, in a manner which pretty specifically excludes privilege.

Here's a pretty cool (but really, really basic) resource from Denver aimed at educating the faith community about their responsibilities and scope http://fcpei.denverda.org/Classroom/UnitTen.h...
