"He had been around the wrong people"? Said his mother...Geez! Dude was 33 yrs old, don't you think he's old enough to know who to be around and who not to be? Sorry for your loss ma'am, but wake up and smell the coffee, your son was a burden on society!

I don't think the mother was defending her son, she was simply stating that he choose the wrong people to be around and that he had problems. I think she sounded better than most parents who all they want to do is blame the police or society for what happened. I think she just purely stated the facts that her son had numerous problems.

So much death is upon us and nobody is talking about all these shooting's. The apearence is the ploice is shooting to kill first ask questions second. We need reaurance that we won't end dead whenever the police is around. And to put this on a larger scale not all police is bad ,thier is alot of good cops out there and it is a dangerous job trying to protect and serve. Personally I like the police but the shooting to kill is wrong we got to find a way to keep people alive when it comes to police shootings.

Troy - Police are trained to shoot to kill. End of story. As a police officer, if you feel you life is endagered to the point that you must pull out your weapon - you shoot to kill. What if the officer had just shot the guy in the leg? The criminals have guns - if you shoot just to hurt them - they will shot back and they won't be aiming for legs. As far as I'm concerned - if you are stupid enough to pull out a weapon - gun, knife, whatever, and threaten a cop with it - you get what you deserve. I'm sick of people coddling criminals.

Usually this kind violence doesn't pick-up until the dog days of summer. Everybody's gettin' cabin fever, so they pull out their gun....

Sure, train them like they were in the old west so that they can shoot the gun out of the perps hand. Sorry, but that does not happen in real life, only in the movies. I happen to be and excellent shot and can shoot the balls off a flea at 20 paces, but if I am ever forced to fire on someone to protect my life, I will guarantee you that all 7 rounds from my .45 cal ACP will be directed at center mass. And, for your information, we already have a fail safe way to prevent nearly all police shootings.... Don't pull a freaking gun on a cop!

Good job to these cops. Time for a raise. Maybe a end of year bonus for each piece of scum they kill.

Wow off his med's huh? That would mean some different side of him coming out. This has not been a good week for the bad guys. Seems the cops are either faster on the draw or better shots. Either way the cops are way up on the body count of the bad guys. Way to go officers. Some of us back you up.

.

I spoke to 2 plain clothes and 2 uniformed officers just this past Saturday night. I did exactly what they told me to do when they told me to do it and didn't have a problem one. I think as long as you follow what they say, you'll be fine. Don't and well lol bang bang you are toast. I was a MP in the Marines. I know more then a few cops out here. I don't think any of us were taught to shoot to wound. That is more a TV thing I think. Come to think of it I went into the Marines when Carter was President. We were still taught to kill. Just in case he didn't get reelected.

easy- if the criminal DOESN'T get a shot off and DOES survive, someone like the ACLU gets involved, or some ambulance-chaser hops on the chance to see their name in the paper- either way, there's a lawsuit against CPD, because the poor sick drug addict only 'needed help', another 'victim of his upbringing' and 'not responsible for his choices'- AND, now he's 'crippled.'
End game, he either gets a fat 'go-away' settlement, or, wins the suit- either way, you and I and every other taxpayer will pay to support the lowlife for the rest of their natural life.
So yeah. Please. Criminal threatens you with a weapon, officer? Shoot to kill.
