It saved nothing. It transferred tens of billions of dollars from the taxpayers' pockets to the union coffers.

The CEO of Ford disagrees with you. But I'm sure you know more about his industry than he does.
The Ford CEO spent most of his career in the aerospace industry. He was hired at Ford because he was an auto industry outsider.

And let's not forget that his company is still a UAW captive, so he had to tow the crony capitalist line.

The person in question is white, so the preferred term would be "self-hating white" analogous to "self-hating Jew" and "Anti-Semitic"

Nate, when a publication like The Economist proves you wrong, you need to accept it.
You still don't get it, do you? Find me a single publication where every article agrees with your worldview...something aside from Socialist Workers Weekly.

I know that it (as well as GM) should have been liquidated to ensure equal treatment of all stakeholders according to law. The taxpayers should not have put a DIME into it, Fiat or no Fiat.

I already explained it. The government took property from one person and gave it to another without just compensation.

First, no they didn't. Second, that has nothing to do with the Fifth Amendment.

In normal bankruptcy hearings, the bondholding interest is considered before the pension interest. In the GM/Chrysler bankruptcy, the UAW controlled the pensions, and they served a more important political purpose than the bondholders.

Not to mention that the hearings were structured in a way to prevent the UAW contracts from being gutted, as famously happened in the airline and steel industry bankruptcies.
