Talk to Nate. He is the one complaining about Chrysler being purchased.

Just a couple of weeks ago you were touting the brilliance of The Economist and now you are calling them liars. Imagine that.
"The Economist, one of the bastions of free-market thinking, came around to that view. Originally, it favored no government intervention. In April 2010, it offered an apology to President Obama.
"Given the panic that gripped private purse-strings," the magazine wrote in an editorial. "It is more likely that GM would have been liquidated, sending a cascade of destruction through the supply chain on which its rivals, too, depended."

You sure didn't care about the author a couple of weeks ago, Nate. You are so funny when you are busted.

I repeat: Did the same person write this article? Are you really so stupid that you're unaware that publications like The Economist have various contributors?

I repeat. You didn't care who wrote the article you were spouting about. All you cared about was that it appeared in The Economist. You probably called WA a ni###r 20 times because he didn't bow to The Economist's glory. Poor little 3.1.

Ford did not require a bailout.

A bailout was not needed to prevent a depression.

The difference would have simply been the carving up of GM to Renault/Nissan, as well as the sale of Chrysler.

If anything saved the US from a depression (one will still happen when the debt/GDP ratio goes over the edge) it was the fracking boom. Which liberals opposed.

They probably do without even realizing it. Millions of people have pensions that were partially invested in GM stock. They were just as screwed as everybody else except the union.

It wasn't WA. It was Black Rhino. Here's what you told him:

BTW, let's hear you cry about Britannica:
"The Economist, weekly magazine of news and opinion published in London and generally regarded as one of the world’s preeminent journals of its kind. It provides wide-ranging coverage of general news and particularly of international and political developments and prospects bearing on the world’s economy. The publication is known for its social-libertarian slant and maintains that free markets provide the best method of running economies and governments. All articles except special reports are published without bylines (there is also no masthead), thereby presenting to readers a unified face."

Chrysler and GM should have gone through a legitimate bankruptcy, not a sweetheart deal that left the unions rolling in billions of dollars and the taxpayers holding the bag.

It saved nothing. It transferred tens of billions of dollars from the taxpayers' pockets to the union coffers.

I don't think you fully understand the Chrysler bailout or the Fiat purchase.
