In fairness, costs in Hawaii and Alaska are as much attributable to geography as anything.

Democrats may claim to care about the middle class but in actuality Democrats care about the proles, for those who don't know proles are the proletariat.
Question-in the democrats ideology, does the bourgeoisie include the middle class?

The middle class are the bourgeoisie. Modern day liberals care nothing for the poor. They care for the rich and pampered. They rob the poor and give to the rich. There will be a revolution and the liberal elites will be cast down from their pedestals and removed of their stolen wealth.

I don't know about that. Maybe the UPPER middle class are the bourgeoisie, but I think leftists think everybody beneath them are in the proletariat.

A good number of people in the UPPER middle class are leftists for some reason. Either they embrace the sexual hedonism, or are part of the creative class where they get to make obscene amounts of money by using their brains.

People who are normal middle class people and small business owners tend to be conservative except for government employees who usually vote where their bread is buttered.

Obama tried to be a transformational president in the mold of Reagan. Ultimately, he will fail because the people aren't on his side. If Ted Cruz or Rand Paul prove to have Reaganesque qualities, the libs will have a conniption fit for the next generation.

Ultra lib Alan Dershowitz said Cruz is one of the smartest he has ever had. And I don't mean affirmative action smart like Barry.

-He has argued before the Supreme Court, so that means he has to be pretty damn good at what he does.

-He is an excellent debater and public speaker.

-He is also the son of a Cuban immigrant.

He may not look as good standing next to Jay-Z as president affirmative action does, but he definitely has the acomplishment ... something Barry never had.

It's truly funny watching the left playing birther with Cruz. I always knew that day would come with some potential GOP candidate...just didn't expect it to be so soon.
Too bad for the 'Rats...the precedent was set with Obama.

The few times I've heard Cruz speak, he has been fantastic. Highly motivational and very compelling.

I don't know enough about his schtick to know if he can articulate an opportunity narrative like Reagan did. He also didn't have Reagan's history of corporate speaking where he actually read and thought about the things he believed in.

If Cruz can speak to that person, to tell them that anybody can improve their lot in life if government just gets out of the way, people will get behind him.

He may not have a "nice guy" personna like Reagan did. Rand Paul does. Either of those guys would be a refreshing change in politics.

Remember, when they mess with someone on our side, it's because they are perceived as a threat.

They tried to kneecap Palin and to a certain extent they did. Nevertheless, her endorsements were a big part of why we now have Cruz, Paul and Lee in the Senate and a several dozen Tea Party house members.

Be careful what you wish for, even if they kneecap Cruz it may be those that Palin and Cruz annoint as their successors that will finally slay the beast.

Cruz has what it takes. The only thing missing is the nice guy persona, but we'll see. I guarantee it won't be a RINO we are voting for for president next time aroiund.

Not being a Republican, I have no stake in it. I'm perfectly fine with an Independent being elected president.

Christie is a flash in the pan. I supported him up until he went neocon recently. Whatever anybody thinks about foreign intervention, it's time to call a "time out" right now. If Christie doesn't have his pulse on that, that means he probably doesn't have his pulse on a lot of other things either. As much as I pick on Palin, she captures the pulse of mainstream America almost 100%

For that matter, Cruz might also be a flash in the pan. I would like to have seen some more administrative experience, but then again the last two presidents haven't had any either.

Rand Paul, however, is the stealth candidate who is going places. People are so wussie these days, they won't vote for someone they don't perceive as being "nice". He didn't sound so nice to me in a recent magazine interview, until his wife came around to take some of the edge off, but they say he's a nice guy and that's what people want.

I like Paul because just about everybody says he's not in it for himself. We need more people like him. He might only make it to VP because he does seem kind of goofy on TV, but there is still a place for him.

Maybe that's what it's going to take at this point. Someone who has no interest in money or power and can't be bought off.

I liked the guy too, but I don't know if he has the right sensibilities to appeal to the masses. His warmongering recently - direct pandering to the Jews in Jew Jersey and Jew York. Not that there's anything wrong with that, since that has always been our policy. People just need a time out from war and if he doesn't know that, that means he's not going to resonate once he starts doing RINO things like immigration that the masses don't want.

Well, I'm Independent also! Always have been.
I think this next election is going to be a real doozy. I wonder if both parties can come up with worthy candidates.
Not looking forward to the ads though. Ugh
