Obama Misses Budget Deadline

The Washington Times
by Stephen Dinan

Monday marked the deadline set in law for President Obama to submit a budget, but he missed it -- making this the fourth time in his five years in office that he's failed to submit the blueprint on time.

This year, Mr. Obama blamed the late passage of his tax increase deal early last month.

"Because these issues were not resolved until the American Taxpayer Relief Act was enacted on Jan. 2, 2013, the administration was forced to delay some of its FY 2014 budget preparations, which will in turn delay the budget's submission to Congress,"....

Correction: "Mr. Obama missed his budget deadline every year but 2010."

So...he's 1 for 5, but not consecutively.
Big difference, I know.

That is so sad. Why don't you have a good cry over it.

Wednesday: House to Pass Bill Forcing Obama to Balance Budget

By Pete Kasperowicz

The House meets at 9 a.m. Wednesday and will immediately start work on legislation that would require President Obama to estimate when the federal budget will balance again.

Members approved the rule for this bill Tuesday, and then debated the bill for 30 minutes before adjourning for the day. The bill was hotly opposed by Democrats and led two Democrats to call the bill "stupid."

The House will start Wednesday by having another 30 minutes of debate.

After that, members will consider up to five amendments (details here). One of these would recommend that President Obama balance the budget by using the Simpson-Bowles deficit reduction plan as a guide.

Members should be able to debate and vote on amendments and then pass the bill by about noon. The House has no work planned for the rest of the week; the Senate is out Wednesday, but returns Thursday to work on a bill reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act.

Whadddaya expect? Gimmie rats like obama could care less about disciplines such as budgeting. Just look at what his co-stains do to public housing, then neighborhoods, then cities like Detroit.
