"They said the child was in Cunningham's car before he was found along the road."

Oh, so he put the baby in the car - apprently in no sort of child restraint? To run in the store?

I have questions.

Yuck I never like Nelsonville, looked like a ghost town 20 years ago. My only question is why is baby with an obviously not responsible non-custodial parent? I think Mom needs to answer some questions for the authorities too. Unless he kidknapped him, she should be held accountable too. I am so sick of seeing these women hook up with some drug fried egg head and their children pay the price.

If you really live in Patasskala, that's sort of like calling the kettle black.

here's another ridiculous example of our justice system. they are filing charges against this dude when the kid got out of the car on his own yet a couple years ago, HOW MANY mothers left their babies in the car to ROAST all day while they were at work and no charges were ever filed in many of those cases..."it was a tragic mistake." even if the dude was a little irresponsible for not making sure the car was locked, at least he has something to do with his son...how many other dead beat dads don't even bother to be in their kid's lives at all?

Ever heard of a CUSTODY ORDER? It's a little things the courts do in the interest of "fairness" that often results in children being harmed by unfit parents.

Regarding the child being with the father, it is possible that the court has ordered unsupervised visitation. If that is the case, then the court, not the mother, should be held accountable. If not, maybe a responsible relative will step forward to rescue the child.
has it ever occurred to you that the guy simply made a bad decision? maybe he was at a gas station and just inside paying for his gas. it didnt say in the story that he abandoned the kid to go drink at a bar and screw some whores. as far as the kid being so dirty, i'd say the mother is partially to blame for that one. i doubt the guy got the kid all sparkling clean.

i'm going to go out on a limb here and venture a guess that dear old non-custodial dad is not a blue suit, white shirt, red tie , 9-5 kinda guy. i might also guess that his car somehow pays homage to a NASCAR driver and that he has those infamous Yosemite Sam mudflaps. And I bet he either has one of two haircuts - the mullet, which of course we all love, or the very short hair with the greasy bangs cut straight across. I bet he also has a refridgerator full of beer which may or may not be sitting out on his front porch (unless he has a doublewide to which it would be on the lawn).

The child was never in the car I'm very close to the father he is very responsible it was a freak accident it happens at times the woman who found the child lied her ass of. This whole thing got blown out of paportion it makes me sad that people these days are so irrational and dont try to see the other people's side of the story the father it not an addict of any kind and never has been do not be so quick to judge. How would you feel if it was your child and everyone is pointing there fingers at u saying it's your fault? I've seen the fAther cry over all of this he is truly upset about it. Just back off.

I'd say Alice is the girlfriend in this scenario, eager of course to hold the hand of this irresponsible father (I use the term with extreme skepticism)as he cries foul! Sorry, no pity for this man. I don't care WHAT his financial or life circumstances are, rich, poor, educated, or somewhere in-between....no excuse whatsover will suffice when a baby is allowed to get free and walk on a busy highway. That baby should NEVER have been left unattended for any reason or any amount of time. Parents!! Take you kids WITH you into the store no matter HOW big a hassle it is!!! Geeeezz! Nobody said parenting is convenient all the time!!!!

Seriously? 2 year old on a major highway by himself - Apparently both parents are morons and the courts let them get away with it. What do you mean - mistake? lapse in judgement? freak accident? Next time he may not be saved and everyone will be soooo sorry. More morons having children. Just a shame

Bull. I know her, and she had no reason to lie. The kid was in the middle of the road, scantily dressed, and so filthy that it looked like he was neglected.

It's called court ordered visitation. Usually every other weekend, every Wednesday, rotating holidays, father's day/mothers day.
