B. If you wish to have a vote, you can establish residence, and do so.

A) Really now? Can you read a map? Most certainly is in eastern Sandusky. Oh I guess you didn't realize that Sandusky Bay and Muddy Creek Bay WERE part of Lake Erie... and you call yourself a lawyer?

B) Given the situation with the geography of our state and its relationship to Lake Erie, I can see why you keep repeating the same mantra rather than actually discussing the issue...

The people who actually reside in a community 365 days a year would seem to me to have a much more vested interest in their community than an absentee property owner, don't you think?
woof
Not necessarily. Why would their interests be greater than mine, given that I maintain a presence there and contribute to their welfare and community via taxes? Why would I not have a say in how those funds are spent or invested? What makes their interests greater than mine? They can take taxes and not spend them well and trash the area, and thus burn my investment, right?

A) A bay is not a lake. They are two distinctly different bodies of water. Ask any experienced boater or real estate agent around PC or Fremont whether there is a difference between being in Sandusky Bay rather than Lake Erie, and they will tell you so. Mapquest Port Clinton Ohio and look at the map.

I grew up there. No local would ever, ever , ever confuse Lake Erie with the Sandusky Bay. Ever.

Ok, I will bite.

How shall society appropriately apportion the vote for people like you, who have financial interests in multiple voting districts?

1/2 a vote here, 1/2 there?

1/3, 1/3, 1/6, 1/6?

You get to vote wherever you own a 20' x 50' vacant lot?

Tell me. How does it work?

Who keeps track of individual property ownership nationwide and apportions the vote? The feds?

One taxpayer, one vote.

Every jurisdiction you pay income or property tax to, you get one vote in that jurisdiction.

So if you live in NH and commute to MA, you pay MA income tax.

That means you get to vote in NH, and in elections for the state officials of MA, that collect the income tax.(IE: Governor, and State legislators for the "foreign district" akin to other countries where citizens abroad are represented by those elected from "abroad districts")

If your primary residence is in NH Town X, and you own a vacation property in NH Town Y, you get to vote in both.

Being as that we have a way to collect all of the taxes, we have a way to assign suffrage.

Mailed with the tax bill, should be an absentee ballot.

]You are right about one thing , George, so called equality is a Utopian concept. Although we dont agree on much and see things from different perspectives. I have learned a long time ago when still young to be convinced that government be it on the left or right is the great manipulator of the ignorant shepple on both sides. To counter their imposition and move up the economic ladder one must or should "game the system" by Macchiavellian means and fly below the radar while doing it. The last Republican that I respected and admired was Eisenhower the rest of them have done their best to destroy the middle class when their corporate masters and billionaire masters created wars costing billions and thousands of lives that were unecessarry like in Nam, and Iraq for example, along with many Democrats who supported these wars. Just to support the military industrial complex under the guise of flag waving BS. I cannot stomach these Tea baggers who have shut down the government. It is my strong belief to take care of our own people FIRST and create jobs in this country and brings jobs that pay decent wages in manufacturing back home along with rebuilding our infrastructure and create "bullet trains" like in Europe and Japan creating millions of jobs. I know that sounds socialistic to you. I am sick and tired of the ultra wealthy and their tea party toadies trying to turn this once powerful nation into a "bannana" third world republic where more than 25% of the population have a negative net worth. I hate losing money on the stock market because of a bunch of clowns in DC shutting dow the government and have no rerspect for them whatsoever. If these idiots were not in Congress bought and paid for by an entity or another they would most likely be on Skid Row. You are right, George so called equality in this country is a joke. The "caste" system in this country is not by race as you may think but by who has the greatest net worth the higher the net worth someone has the greater the power and the greater are his opportunities that he or she can "buy" the political clown be it left or right to do his or her bidding.

What about people like professional athletes who earn income in multiple cities and states?

How about people who rent, and a portion of their rent goes to pay property taxes?

When is the deadline prior to each election for determining where one qualifies to vote?

Who decides that?

And how about fraud? You all seem to think its bad now. Whattaya think might happen with your system, Karl?

Sounds a bit complicated there Karl.

experienced boater here..........

a bay shares water from lakes, oceans, rivers. A bay is not the main body of water. Sandusky bay and the Sandusky river are lake erie watershed. translation so you grasp what I said......Sandusky bay is lake erie, and so is maumee bay, presque isle, and niagra falls.

Sanfrancisco bay is the pacific ocean.

PS: mapquest marblehead ohio ( the point protruding into lake erie from the bay) and on the tip of point is what is called bay pointe. Imagine the thought it took to name that.......on the point at this second, my boat is docked. Look for the yellow boat with flybridge....it is the only one.

I will make sure to tell the folks who also dock at bay pointe they are not on lake erie. You may hear the laughter in Akron.

PSS: ask a Realtor about Johnsons Island and bay Pointe properties. Better yet tell one you are interested in those areas, and watch them salivate. cha ching....cha ching....cha ching.

I see what you are saying, legally dictating equality is...
1. fake,
you cant make someone equal only give them special treatment and that makes people angry
2.fake,
you cant improve someones abilities by just willing them to be your "equal"
and of course..
3.fake,
in that it is more of a legal phrase and a creation of a society that made laws to enforce equality in renting hiring and education with no regard for the
resulting loss of freedom to like or dislike who you want. It doent mean you want them to be harmed.
Remember by law you must not judge a person by their race,
of course it is a good idea not to judge people like that,
but making this a law was insane, it generated bad feelings, its been used to prosecute and sue people,it is unfairly enforced,
you can blast someone to shreds but because you didnt say any "magical hate language"
you are not deemed racist.
A democratic government that doesnt allow you to hire or rent to the people you desire. Thats not freedom or right or fair.
its requires actually putting blinders on to deal with people.that is impossible and unlikely.
In the end you might get fired because they dont like your color but they will just call it something else, all it does is make people hide their feelings.
it doesnt make anyone equal not even in a legal sense, just pissed off.

not long ago here in America, if you did not own land you had no vote on taxes.

reasoning.......what gives you a right to raise my taxes when it does not involve you. Time progressed with an ever growing government needing to tax the renters, tourists, and children.

our first money as a country had....mind your business, as the slogan

Business has multiple definitions. The founding fathers meant all of them inclusive when saying mind your business.

we are all born equal, there is no legal slavery in the USA.

the person themselves will determine their future.

absolutely family and environment have repercussions.

improving the family and the environment it lives in will create a society better off for that investment of time and money. Education is critical in this equation.

Today's education is half indoctrination to the Democrat party, and half what the past was 100%. Learning skills necessary for employment.

America is becoming stupider by the day. Fact check test scores in comparison to other countries.

Raise the tax to 100%....my income is ZERO. Won't apply....all I have is expenses.

PS: over the past 60 days over 1000 corporations have moved HQ out of the states.
Best get busy raising taxes on the poor because all those with money are leaving.

That was your post, Walter, not mine. Remember how the 40some lawyers were working on your case so that you didn't have to pay income tax? You are a loon, Walter.
