Our troops in Afghanistan are being taught this mantra:
"We will hold sacred the beliefs held sacred by others."

How offensive. Under our Constitution, citizens recognize the right of others to hold separate beliefs, but are under no obligation to hold those beliefs "sacred."

Daily, Obama signals his brown-shirts to target the enemy he demonizes regularly: Christians/conservatives. Many have complied [i.e., IRS, DHS, NSA, radical activists, and now the US Armed Forces...].

Obama Administration: Some Religions are More Equal Than Others

by Michael Barone

The Obama administration "strongly objects" to a proposed House amendment to the defense authorization bill which would require, in the words of its sponsor, Rep. John Fleming, R-La., "the Armed Forces to accommodate 'actions and speech' reflecting the conscience, moral, principles or religious beliefs of the member." Fox News has the story. Fleming points to evidence that Christian service members and chaplains are being penalized for expressing their faith. Examples:

-- The Air Force censored a video created by a chaplain because it include the word "God." The Air Force feared the word might offend Muslims and atheists.

-- A service member received a "severe and possibly career-ending reprimand" for expressing his faith’s religious position about homosexuality in a personal religious blog.

-- A senior military official at Fort Campbell sent out a lengthy email officially instructing officers to recognize "the religious right in America" as a "domestic hate group" akin to the KKK and Neo-Nazis because of its opposition to homosexual behavior.

-- A chaplain was relieved of his command over a military chapel because, consistent with DOMA’s definition of marriage, he could not allow same-sex weddings to take place in the chapel.

The Obama administration evidently thinks it important that such actions continue to be taken.

There’s a tension between this policy -- arguably suppressing expressions of Christian faith -- with the White House’s assurance, according to Investor’s Business Daily, that FBI surveillance not including any investigation of mosques.

So, it appears, Christian religious expression must be suppressed, while Muslim religious expression cannot even be monitored. Yes, government can appropriately limit the conduct of members of the military in ways that would be inappropriate in the case of civilians. So there’s not necessarily a contradiction between these policies. And perhaps there’s a need to restrict servicemembers from offending colleagues in a way that would not be appropriate outside the military (and is not on college campuses, where it often occurs). But it sure looks like a double standard to me: Christianity, bad; Islam, good. I seem to remember, from some ancient reading, the phrase, "or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."

Obama loathes "real" Christianity.

When Obama was at Georgetown University the school was order to cover over a monogram symbolizing the name of Jesus Christ because it was inscribed on a pediment on the stage where President Obama spoke.

The White House had asked Georgetown to cover up all signs and symbols there that might be offensive to Obama.

If Christianity can't be present or talked about in military service than no other religion should be allowed to be discussed.

Oh...and I forgot the eager compliance of the Dept. of Education.
Of course, when this young man arrives at the U.S. Naval Academy, he will encounter more of the same, as the military mantra really means, "We will hold sacred Islam as held sacred by Islamists, and we will silence the infidel."

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/...

"...The valedictorian’s name is Remington Reimer. Like previous graduation speakers, Reimer had to submit advance copies of his personal speech for review by school officials, including Cochran. Breitbart News has obtained a copy of an earlier draft of his speech, which is covered in edits and changes required by the school.

Some things Reimer wanted to say were completely stricken from the speech by various school officials. Two such statements are a reference to his Christian faith, and thanking God for sending Jesus Christ to secure forgiveness for sin.

He decided to say something anyway, led by his faith to believe that it’s important to thank God for the blessings and successes in life. When Reimer started to say this in his speech, school workers literally turned off his microphone on the stage to silence him...."

So you are advocating that our military should cater to the individual religious beliefs of every individual soldier?

Wouldn't expect you to know these things, but there are Catholic, Protestant, Jewish and <gasp!> even Muslim chaplains serving within our Armed Forces.

Really? From your own cite:

In coordinating the logistical arrangements for yesterday’s event, Georgetown honored the White House staff’s request to cover all of the Georgetown University signage and symbols behind Gaston Hall stage,” Julie Green Bataille, associate vice president for communications at Georgetown, told CNSNews.com .

“The White House wanted a simple backdrop of flags and pipe and drape for the speech, consistent with what they’ve done for other policy speeches,” she added.“Frankly, the pipe and drape wasn’t high enough by itself to fully cover the IHS and cross above the GU seal and it seemed most respectful to have them covered so as not to be seen out of context.”

So the White House asked, "Can you give us a plain background?" and Georgetown said "sure." The Jesuits at Georgetown covered the religious symbols. Your persecution complex is incredible.

The problem is that you wingnut Jesus Freaks have no respect for anyone else. If you had any self discipline, people wouldn't have to go to such extreme measures.

A few years of this and there will be little if any dissension in the ranks if the military was ordered to attack civilians / churches conservative groups etc.

No shit. Your post had nothing to do with chaplains. It was about accomodating religious beliefs. So you think soldiers who are Jews should be able to have Fridays off, Muslims should get to pray 5 times a day no matter the mission, and Christians should have Christmas day off? That's where that amendment will lead.

Your reading comprehension skills suck. Big time.
Do a word search on my OP for "chaplain."

The same strategy worked in WWII Germany.

The word sex is in there too. That doesn't mean the subject is sex. You think on the simplest of levels.

Reflect on your above post.

Islamizing the Public Schools

by Joseph Klein

The Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is pressuring public schools in this country to make special accommodations for Muslim students and to deny comparable accommodations for students of other faiths.

For example, CAIR’s instructional material for teachers entitled “An Educator’s Guide to Islamic Religious Practices” advises schools to permit Muslim students who wish to attend Friday congregational worship (known as Jum’ah) to “request a temporary release from school.”

In Michigan, CAIR went beyond dispensing general advice from its guidebook. In April, 2013, it pushed for public schools in Dearborn, Michigan to accommodate Muslim students who wish to comfortably pray on school grounds and to allow Muslim students to leave early on Fridays for Jumu’ah prayers.

The school superintendant caved, and CAIR got its wish.

Just a few months earlier, the same CAIR Michigan branch had complained that a Detroit area elementary school was being too accommodating to Christians when it allowed its teachers to distribute permission slips for parents to sign so that their children could be released to attend off-site Bible studies classes.

In his letter to the school district, CAIR-MI Executive Director Dawud Walid wrote in part:

***School staff and teachers are not to serve as advocates for one particular religion or congregation within a religion by passing out slips inviting parents to give permission for their children to attend religious instruction... According to the United States Supreme Court, the First Amendment clearly requires that public school students and their parents are never given the impression that their school/school district prefers a specific religion over others or sanctions religion in general.***

CAIR’s sanctimonious, hypocritical letter worked. It intimidated the school district into offering an apology.

In California, the Islamists have already won in their efforts to get special treatment for Islam in the public schools.

For example, several years ago seventh-graders at a San Francisco-area school were required to “become Muslims” for two full weeks as part of California’s world history curriculum. This included professing as “true” the Muslim belief that “The Holy Quran is God’s word,” reciting the Muslim profession of faith —“Allah is the only true God and Muhammad is his messenger”—and chanting “Praise be to Allah.” Just imagine what would happen if a public school told Muslim students to become Jews for two weeks and recite the traditional Jewish prayer:“Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one.”
