This is bending over dollars to pick up pennies. You can't seriously tell me that the emissions of idling cars that will be covered by this law do any REAL damage to the environment. The world is a very, very big place. And the number of vehicles that are left idling such that this law would ban it is miniscule. It just doesn't make sense.

There are factories whose emissions from a single DAY far outweigh the emissions of all of the idling cars for an entire YEAR. Yet we do nothing about it.

So now while we're waiting in traffic for the light to change, we'll all need to shut off our engines so we're not idling! LOL
For really long lights & there are many.. only one car will get through at a time for having to start their engines again and pull through the intersection. ha ha ha ha ha

You say this in jest.....but this is how stupid some politicians are...they will see your post and figure that since it only affects everyone except them that this is a great new law to propose...with your post as a guideline. But they will call it some type of traffic protection act or something stupid like that.

Have any of you considered the people who really do need to idle their engines? Over the road truckers sleep every night in their trucks, in sleeper berths built for the purpose. When it's 6 degrees outside, many of them have a single means of heating their "bedrooms" - an idling diesel engine. When it's 97 degrees, without idling, it can quickly climb to 115 degrees in those trucks if parked without the air conditioner - and thus the engine - running. If you left a dog in a parked truck under those conditions you would be sent to prison for cruelty to animals. Truckers are subjected to it every day in states with idling bans such as California, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, certain counties in Texas, and so forth.

Think about that, please, when you go to the voting booth. And about the people who deliver everything on every shelf in every store.

The environmental terrorists that creat the anti idling laws don't care. They hate you for having a diesel or even a compressed natural gas powered vehicle. They think everyone that uses man mad objects but themselves are evil, thus proving they are nuts.

My equipment idles when firat started and before shutdown don't give a damn if the nut jobs don't like.it.
