Right. Just like the price went up every year before that.
Not so dramatically in a single year. Many people had double or triple the premium. And with higher deductibles, coinsurance, and OPMs. No, this is a disaster in the making... just as it was designed to be.

Sorry, you can't lay the blame for this mess on the insurance industry. They are working within the guideline that the ACA set in place 3 years ago. They invested time and money to change the way they do business to meet those guidline.

When you go to the market place to buy insurance you'll find a variety of plans available from which to choose, the prices for each plan are laid out and available add on's that you can choose are listed that can be added for an additional fee.

You make your choices based on your needs and affordability. The only thing they take into consideration is your age (assuming pre-existing will not be a consideration January 1st).

obamacare not only takes into consideration your age BUT your income. You make more than the person down the street you pay MORE for the SAME policy.

They ask, even if I would apply for an individual policy though married for Family income NOT MY INCOME.

A massive redistribution of wealth plot.

A couple making $60,000 per year, 63 years of age will pay $5,700.00 for the silver plan in premiums after tax credits.

The same couple making $63,000.00 per year will not receive any tax credit and pay $14,340.00 for the SAME PLAN!!!

Couple 2 will pay and additional $8,640 for making $3,000.00 more than couple number 1.

A 30 year old couple making the same money will not receive tax credits but will pay $5,513.00 in premiums for the SAME PLAN.

I DON'T WANT TO HEAR THE YOUNG ARE PAYING FOR THE ELDERLY.

Yes insurance is a pool but a 63 year old IS paying their share of the risk when there is a $8,823.00 per year difference in premiums.

No one has a lock on catastrophic care.

Why is the ability to buy Catastrophic Care Insurance limited to those 30 years of age and younger?

So? Obama was supposed to stop that and told us how much less we'd be spending for insurance, remember? Do you understand that some folks who are the working poor got trapped in an "affordable" (by the law's definition) insurance plan with deductibles so high that if you add the deductible plus the monthly premium they may be spending 2 or 3 months' worth of take home pay before any sick care at the doctor will be paid.

I heard there are concerns because the ones signing up are the middle aged with pre-existing conditions, which is totally throwing the formula off.

Here's the reality. The scenario I laid out leaves couple 2 paying over $12,700 in a deductible plus premiums plus if something occurred 30% co-pay.

Say I had a heart attack. my premiums are $14,340, my deductible is $12,700
and my co-pay on let's use $100,000 for the heart attack would be $30,000, that total is $57,040 for that year or 90% of my entire income.

Leaving off the co-pay, if I could somehow magically use $12,700 worth of deductible (no one ever could unless seriously ill) it would cost me $27,000.00 per year or 42% of my income.

Since the plan pays for nothing until I pay all of the $12,700 deductible I have essentially catastrophic health care insurance which I'm not allowed to buy.

If I bought Catastrophic Insurance, my premiums would be extremely lower and I HAVE CONTROL of my out of pocket expenses i.e what would be the deductible and then they cover the catastrophic event at a rate I was willing to pay i.e. I could choose a 90 / 10 plan.

George, george, george. I do this insult so much better than you. And the bonus round when I do it to you is that it's true.

I'll bet a dollar that Sandra Fluke is saying thank you for her free birth control right now at the expense of those increased premiums and deductibles for a large swath of people that WW has correctly identified!

Watch the big red lips and flames get put on this post.

WW and I burned you, boy. That's a fact. Nobody even remotely familiar with the way a business is run believes your garbage. Steal from blacks? That's about as smart as deliberately contracting a terminal illness.

What would you say to the Washington State Insurance Commissioner, booner? That he's an "IT boy"?

SEATTLE (AP)- Washington state's insurance commissioner says President Barack Obama's proposal on old insurance policies isn't a good deal for Washington citizens.

Commissioner Mike Kreidler said Thursday he won't allow insurance companies to extend their old policies that didn't meet the requirements of federal health care reform. An estimated 290,000 Washington residents have received notices that their old insurance policies will be canceled.

"Trying to do what the president has proposed would be very disruptive to the insurance market in the sate of Washington so no, we will not be allowing insurance companies to extend these policies," he said. "You'd have to go back and re-rate all of the policies, and the premises for what they originally proposed rates would all change."

Isn't that the way it used to be, back in the day? You paid a fair amount for a doctor visit. Insurance was for hospitalization and serious matters, not to take a splinter out of your finger. Enter the HMOs. If you have time, research California/HMOs/Democrats [Kennedy]. It galls me that the very people who got us on a system that is for profit are the same people who were able to sway so many Americans that by voting for a Democrat, your health care costs would be lowered.

I'm cool on the pre-existing, because it allows you to obtain insurance and be self-employed (although I understand the financial ramnifications). Prior to January, if you had pre-existing you had to work for a company, best a corporation or government, to be adequately covered. I don't agree with the birth control or kids staying on (married ones, at that!) the parents' plan. I also watched folks switch jobs every few years because they had met their lifetime limits. Who knew that there would be a whole generation of million dollar babies?

If the Democratic Supermajority really cared, they would have tweaked a few insurance laws and opened Medicaid to those who had recently lost their jobs, etc. They may, then, have taken the time to write something substantial but Obama's ACA was an intentional power grab - and why so many can't see that worries me about the future of this country.

Back to the catastrophic plan - it may not adequately cover you in the event of a lingering illness, so if you go that route, read the fine print.

I never saw the reply - did he say he did or did not eliminate jobs to have such a fabulous balance sheet to earn his big bonus?

He'll be along shortly to tell us about all his new hires and their fantastic benefits packages all made possible by Obama's ACA, solid job growth, and favorable economic forecasts.
I have to give those folks credit...they sure can whip up a tall tall like no other people!
