Must feel good to be the smartest person you know! Why don't you try posting opinion instead of just insulting people. You are not impressive!

I usually try to straddle the fence myself, but not in this case.

Keep up the good fight Lolita!

As I sit here and read some of these posts, it disappoints, saddens and angers me. Alicia was absolutely wonderful and amazing. When she walked into a room it lit up. Rarer than a blue moon did she not smile and always as she did... oh my was it a sight. Her laugh was infectious. She would always come in the room with a huge smile and tell silly stories and jokes. She would do little wiggles and dances. She was the "Just Dance" champion. She cooked family dinners for every holiday. She was there for whatever and whenever you needed her. She was a dedicated daughter. Great Sister. And Fantastic friend. As for her mothering, she was top shelf. She read to her girls and sang them songs with a voice as sweet and smooth as honey. They went to ballet and piano. She went to recitals and plays. She told them she loved them everyday. They were well fed and dressed to a T. She was a good mother indeed. For all of you that wrote negative things, I forgive you because I know and understand that somewhere along the way you missed the kind of light and inspiration Alicia gave. For you are what desecrates and erodes the very foundation of peoples lives. You should put out more positive. For everyone who speculates on her whereabouts and what she "should have" been doing, she was celebrating something wonderful. You really should be ashamed. Speak softer as you may have to eat your own words one day. Nobody deserves this for any reason. A mother will never her to hold her child again. Two little girls will never to get to feel the comforting arms of their mother again. The brothers and sisters will never play or sleepover or share their lives with our sister again. Go hug your kids and parents and tell them you love them. I wish this tragedy on no one. I miss you sis.

Well to workingdadof7 and Why. It should not make a difference where someone chooses to go. They should not be gunned down for no reason at all. As it says in the Bible people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. You have no right to judge someones life because you are not the creator.

Never the less you have no idea what type of woman, mother, daughter, sister, and friend that she was.

Did your mother ever teach you if you don't have anything nice to say then you shouldn't say it at all. Don't you know that you should never beleive everything you read(they don't give you the whole story)

I knew Alicia, she was my hairdresser since cosmetology school and a sweet woman who loved her children and loved God. It could have been someone's birthday, a late celebration of a promotion at work, or the one night a week where she did not have to rise early for work; whatever the reason, no one asks to be shot in the chest and left for dead in a parking lot just for being there. What if if were someone you know, your niece or sister, would you say that they got what they deserved? More likely, what if Alicia was a white hair dresser, out for a rare girls night when she was gunned down? Then would it be her fault?

Sharing a little love for you and the others here, defending the circumstance that created a murder and orphans.
"They" are any souls that choose to frequent drinking establishments after hours. Neither you or I can justify Alicia's habits, only her. I'll never get to know her, since she chose to be out past any good hour. I would never have had a chance anyways, because I am in bed sleeping at 2:30+ in the morning. She is going to bed when I am getting up in the morning, totally different values of a 24 hour period.
It is a tragedy when children lose their mother/father, that is why so many come to these forums and try to say such. Maybe not as elegant as you would wish, but the truth just the same.
My mother loved me very much! So much, in fact, that she really impressed me with the need to avoid being out late, unless helping another or working, and especially avoid alcohol and its breeding grounds (bars/clubs). Mix the two and it is just that much more of a potential problem. My mother taught me to work hard, eat and sleep well and to help others. I hope this helps.

<quoted text> I agree with you half way. 1/2 the problem is that she shouldn't (or anyone else) have been at that dive of a bar anyways. Sometimes you get what you ask for by the places you go.
If you are a working dad of 7- just think- that could have been one of your daughters. Some people!!!
