Did she steal your boyfriend in High School or something?
That is rude. No she didn't steal my boyfriend. I am just stating that she doesn't do anything she has others do the work for her. During the fair where would Lindsay Binegar be? Not making sure her hogs had food or water daddy and Heath did that. She was too worried about not getting dirty.
Half of you people act like she is so freaking great when there are other 4H members out there who do spend THEIR money on everything and if their parents do they pay their parents back instead of "putting it in the bank". Some kids save that money for the next year. Most of you people are saying how great she is when her parents probably did pay for the house and are going to pay for her "dream wedding". Knowing her she has the dress and everything picked out. It is going to cost mommy and daddy more after she gets married for college because there is no way in hell that she is going to graduate spring 2012 no matter how many credit hours she takes each quarter. She might get her way in Greenfield and at home but she isn't going to get her way of graduating early.

I dont know who you think this is but I DO NOT live in a house my daddy bought...I live in a house in WCH that my husband and I bought with the hard earn money we make...I worked petty jobs until I landed a job at Wright Patt and I have learned that nothing is handed to you...you must work for what you want...My children take hogs to the fair and we have seen first hand who pays for the cost of taking hogs...its all about having the best pig and people will go out of their way to make sure they have the best...there is only a handful of actual kids that do it on their own without parents...im just saying that there was a lot more to this story then was published...she should have had 40k to buy a house...when you have parents that pay for everything you should be able to save that money and do something with it! some people arent that lucky!
I agree with you. It is the childrens projects they need to work more with their animals than the parents need to. To me the only time a parent needs to be involved with the animal is picking the animal up (if needed) when they first get it and on the day when the animals are taken in to the fair. There are times when the animals get sick then the parent can help then but other than that it is supposed to be the child's job. We are supposed to be teaching them responsibility of taking care of an animal that will be sold.

I think this girl was smart to buy a house with her winnings, and I'm not going to say she's a brat just because her parents pay for a lot of things for her, but a lot of kids could save up that much money if they were in her situation. I'm in 4-H and win money from it, but I haven't saved up $40,000 because I have to buy the animals, their feed, and their vet bill. I have to buy my own clothes and school supplies. If I wanted to go to college (which I don't) I would have to pay for that too.

And I'm lucky for that. I know how to budget at the ripe old age of 15, when all my friends are worrying about buying a new cell phone or those $50 jeans. Obviously this girl's parents did something right, because I admit if my parents bought me everything my whole life, I wouldn't know the value of a dollar. But she does.

On another note, how is 4-H abusing animals? Yes, animals like pigs and cows get slaughtered. Because they are food. One of my biggest pet peeves is when kids at school ask how I could kill and eat the animals we raise. I ask if they eat meat. They say yes, but that it's different. And they're right. It is different. Take chickens for example. Our chickens don't live in cages, they're free-range. They live happy lives, and we kill them humanely.

If anybody here who said 4-H is abusive is a vegetarian, then good for you. I respect you for that, but I think anyone who eats meat should be willing to kill it themselves, raise it themselves, or at the very least acknowledge where it came from and realize that it's just a part of life.

What in the world? Why are you being so mean? What did she do to you? Can't parents help their children? When I help my grandparents take care of our horses,(they are kind of like my second parents) I don't like to get dirty, but I find something to do that isn't dirty like feed and water them or groom them while my grandparents work in the horses' stalls.

Heres the deal, Lindasy has been financially taken care of by her parents her entire life and had no reason to dig into her saving from 4-h. Not too mention the money SHE didn't spend to get her prize winning hogs which was also probably mommy and daddy. She was best dressed in highschool but never spent her own money. She buys a house as a source of income so she doesnt have to hav a real job and can volunteer and go to work. Its not like the girl was so cheap she went without todays luxuries. There were luxuries and then some. She was also not top of the class. Sorry to offend but but it only hurts because its true. But renting out a house as source of income at 19 is awesome..more power to her...but shes no ghandi suffering from depravation.

I don't think anyone suggested she lived the life of Gandhi. Many here are just so overcome with jealousy that they feel compelled to criticize this girl any way possible. That is why she has total strangers defending her and wishing you would work to improve your own life instead of pointing out that you think she did not earn what she has.

Does anyone find this article funny (As in fishy, not comical)? Especially since it came out around the same exact time that 4-H programs were about to be cut?
AND Frugal my ass. She drove a Land Rover, carried expensive purses, wore expensive clothes, and also treated a lot of poor kids like trash if they weren't in the in-crowd or ugly in high school. One particular instance is that she would always single out a poor girl in the cheerleading squad and always belittle her. Her dad (who is the hard working individual, that paid actually paid for her pigs some years at the auctions.) was always feeding and washing her pigs at the fair. I will say that her parents are awesome for giving her anything she could want, but this is a plain mockery.
I would say I feel sorry for Lindsey, since many people are laughing about this article. But, after seeing how she treats people, I couldn't piss on her if she were on fire.

"Frugal teen buys house with 4-H winnings"

Obama says this isn't possible in the America dominated by the 1%

That is incorrect.

Where it isn't possible is in a place like the old USSR and Venezuela, where the countries are domniated by government.
