I'm really, genuinely interested in this.<quoted text>
fyi...it does not require intelligence of Einstein to see reality in you.
I can (after a fashion) understand how someone might claim to make more than a rival. Knowing their own income (or net worth, I'm not really clear what's being discussed here) and pitting it against the average income (or net worth) one might make an educated guess on how their financial situation might bear against an opponent. Knowledge of the rival's background or profession might help allow more confident estimates to be offered.
I'm having an especially difficult time understanding the exchange above. In saying
"just think....that guys gun collection is worth more than your entire net worth.
I am laughing at your reaction to a person who is self sufficient with what would appear a limited education to your lofty PHD; and your envy a person whom you consider way below your intelligence earns more than you."
You offer an estimate of relative net worth while knowing neither actor's standing.
I've been interested for some time in the rather outlandish claims of wealth and standing that Topix (and I suppose the internet as a whole) seems to breed. I'm most interested in this oft repeated interaction, especially where claims of having superseded the assumed wealth of a rival is intended to stand in the place of an argument or rebuttal.
As it doesn't take "intelligence of Einstein" to read my life and lifestyle, I was hoping that you might go into a bit more detail about it. I'm actually wonderfully interested in this type of exchange and what, if anything, fuels it.
