Russia warns sanctions over Ukraine would 'hit US like boomerang'
Published March 08, 2014

Russia warned the United States on Friday that any sanctions imposed on Moscow over its response to the crisis in Ukraine would "boomerang" back on the United States, as U.S. officials continued to explore ways to resolve the standoff diplomatically.

In a telephone conversation with Secretary of State John Kerry, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned that U.S. sanctions could "backfire" and urged the U.S. not to take "hasty, poorly thought-out steps that could harm Russian-U.S. relations," the Russian foreign ministry said in a statement.

"Sanctions...would inevitably hit the United States like a boomerang," the statement added, according to a Reuters report.

Heavier U.S. and European Union sanctions could sting Russia's already slow-growing economy and hurt its financial sector. But Moscow could retaliate and seize American and other foreign assets or cut exports of natural gas to Europe, which is heavily dependent on Russia for energy.

Meanwhile, Russian news agencies reported Saturday that Moscow is considering a freeze of U.S. military inspections in Russia in line with the New START nuclear arms reduction treaty and the 2011 Vienna agreement between Russia and NATO on confidence-building measures.

Agencies on Saturday carried a statement by an unidentified Defense Ministry official saying that Moscow sees Washington's decision to halt military cooperation with Russia as a reason to halt inspections.

The State Department said Friday that Kerry underscored to Lavrov the importance of finding a constructive way to resolve the situation diplomatically, which would address the interests of the people of Ukraine, Russia, and the international community. Kerry and Lavrov agreed to continue to consult in the days ahead.

Russia set a third of their country on fire to keep the Germans at bay. The Russians are tough mfers and I doubt a few sanctions are going to hurt them any. On the other hhand, we live in a country where the natives attack power company crews after a major storm because their air conditioner has been off for a couple of days. Dont forget, people also call 911 because McDonalds ran out of fries.

Recently Obama’s complete and utter impotency at foreign policy was a complete windfall for a lot of Ohio folks!  Sorry though moocher democrats, not you tho…. You can keep on looking forward to making a luxury house payment for your dear obamacare.
.
Windfall you say???
.
Just think….  The Ukraine is being taken off the world market or at the very least plummeted into complete peril now regarding supplying commodities to Europe like Oil, Corn, Wheat and Soybeans.
.
In a matter of a week, Beans have rocketed skyward 70 cents per bushel.  Corn 34 cents per bushel, and wheat 65 cents per bushel. For a modest sized farm in the Vdub, that means 400 acres worth of beans in storage has risen $14,000 dollars. And 150 acres worth of corn in storage went up a hair over $9,400 dollars. And 200 acres worth of wheat in storage went up $8,400 dollars.
.
That’s about $32,000 bucks total net gain (meaning that doesn't include what it was valued prior to Caesar's Ukraine douchebaggery.)
.
Well that beats the EVER LIVING CRAP out of farm subsidies!
.
Yes, Caesar’s ineptitude is MUCH more valuable than farm subsidies.
.
The cherry on top… you MOOCHERS class toad stools get to pay more for gas, and food!
.
But HEY…….. This is what you voted for!'CAESAR OBAMUS'

I would love to see the power off for a few weeks in Colemanistan, not the Suburbs just Colemanistan. It would be fun watching the inhabitants attack each other like fighting rosters.

Bring it on. And make it nationwide. It'll separate the wheat from the chaff.

The natives over in Eastmoor go "bananas" (pun intended) every summer when the temperature hits the 90's. I think that might be a harbinger of what you might see.
