I think everyone has relatives who are well, "out there." I have relatives who will claim they've seen apparitions of the Blessed Virgin in their oatmeal. Basically they're ignored unless it's really important. Like life or death important.<quoted text>
That's why I said "most religions". Be thankful you didn't have baptist relatives, like I did, who even thought playing solitaire with cards was the devil's work. And there was a coalition of religious groups who fought the casino amendment tooth and nail.
I think I have made clear I play only what I feel like losing, and it's only out of discretionary money.
As for gambling, I don't because of any religious restraint. Been to Vegas, played slots and blackjack. It just doesn't interest me. Neither does lottery tickets. Just seems like a waste of money to me -- I have other diversions though that does cost money. Prefer to spend my money there. Gambling or good wine? Wine. Wins hands down everytime.
