At least there is someone now who can compete against Ricart... I've never bought a car from Germain but I have from Ricart and they are HORRIBLE.

Hey folks! I want you to rush right down to the auto dealership and buy a depreciating asset by taking out a big fat loan. If you are going to borrow money, be sure to use it to buy something that decreases in value over time. These days, that can include a house as well. Your average M/I Home loses 20% of its value in just 3 short years after you buy it. But nothing beats a car for depreciation. Why, you can kiss $6500 goodbye the day you drive it off the lot. Oh, and one more thing - be sure to get a 5, 6 or even 7 year car loan - the longer, the better. Follow my advice and you to can join the millions of middle aged Americans who have no measurable financial assets.

Ha! You know why they don't teach financial literacy in High School? Because if they did, the American economy would collapse (OK, collapse even more than it already has). You see, a financially literate person knows that the amount of car you can afford is the amount of car YOU CAN PAY CASH FOR. But Joe Average Dopehead thinks he can afford the car that he can make the payments on. WRONG ANSWER. Show me somebody making $500/MO. payment on an impulse purchase they made 4 years ago and I'll show you a broke and miserable human being.

As a business owner, it makes more sense to lease my vehicle. My payment is actually over $700 per month, but I am actually driving it for free. If i wasn't benefiting from a car payment, I would be driving around in a modest car I paid cash for.

Also, I don't know anything about Germain, other then their service at Germain Mercedes of Easton has been phenomenal.

I fail to understand how paying $700 per month for anything is a good deal. Wouldn't you rather keep $700 per month in profits, or invest that in your business, rather than waste it on a car lease? I suppose you are on the debt treadmill so why not more?

Price fixing at it's best folks. You have a limited ownership by a very few "families" and the consumers have to support their millionare lifestyles ao they screw the car buyer.
Shop online and get prices from at least three dealers on the exact car you want. Shop only those that are open to discuss price on the internet and on the phone. Don't fall for any "Come on in" Or " What time is best for you" BS. Stay out of the showroom until you have the best prices.
NUMBER ONE RULE :::: Never give a car salesperson your phone number or email address when at a dealership because they will hound you to death ESPECIALLY Germain. They train their salespeople to do that 24/7.
Once you have decided where to buy. INFORM salesperson you don't want bother with "follow up calls" that are just attempts to get you to give up names of "friends & family" that may need a car. Tell tem if you have an issue with the car they will hear from you not them calling you every week or two. Stop them at their own game.
Plus remember if you go to a dealership and buy a car there is no 3 day cooling off period to back out because it is you that went to them.

What if you get an IRS audit? Will you be able to explain this? Is this primarily for business use or personal use?

You have better choices then Germain for a HONDA.
Honda of Marysville
John Hinderer Honda
Nourse Honda in Chillicothe
Lindsey Honda
and many others all with websites where you can get honest up front prices plus other non dealer sites that will give you prices.
NEVER let a dealer "arrange" your financing because they add "points" to the car loan that will increase the interest rate and cause you to pay a higher payment and be deeper in debt.

I'll stick with Roush Honda in Westerville thank you very much. I've never had an issue with them and their service dept has always been outstanding for me.

Didn't you read what I wrote? You should not, under any circumstances, borrow money to buy a car. You can afford as much car as you can pay cash for. People who follow this rule all their lives have money when they retire. People who spend their lives making $500,$600, even $700 per month car payments (sometimes two car payments at once!!!) end up broke when they are old. People who are making car payments will rationalize it eight ways to Sunday, but the hard cold truth is that borrowing money to buy or lease a depreciating asset is financially idiotic.

Isn't that his 20-something year old daughter? I'm sure the salespeople probably just love taking orders from that floozy.

75% of all car buyers have to finance their car and often it's the largest debt most people get involved in. I concur that if you can pay cash do so and buy a slightly used car. New are a waste of money. Take a few grand to middle of road and set it on fire if you feel like wasting money.
GetSchooled I do agree with you but reality is different then what should be.
It's sad a basic car from GM or Ford or Chrysler (The Big 3) cost well over $12,000.00 plus and are made by cheap labor in Mexico for the most part.

She probably went to a TTT law school and is unable to find a job. There are too many lawyers out there. She was wise to get out of the legal profession because of market saturation and the fact that many companies are starting to outsource legal services to India.

The Immke family has not owned the Honda store for several years. It was owne by the Lucas family who had a ford store in Lima etc. They lived too high on the hog and were deep in debt so they sold to Germain. Sad news for Columbus that Germain has another place to gouge people.
