What are your thoughts?

Is this justified or over the top?
Votes are needed for a final decision.

While I feel.sorry and compassion for these women I believe this bill and the 8 years or more provision for future captives sets a bad precedent. There already is a victims of crime fund and methods to pay people from that fund. Public ir private universities can waive tution and on campus housing if.they choose already.
They should have been given that house and any assets.Castro had. Instead the house was torn down at tax payer expense

Being a woman, I think that house needed to be torn down...after spending 10 years and being abused daily, I don't think the girls would want to spend any time in that house anytime soon.

I agree about other victims. The state always compensates one for their agony. I think the money from donations from citizens should give them a good start and it's up to them to manage their own life thereafter.
I think if they get Medicaid for life will only cripple them from being independent.
Maybe for a short time but not for life.
I do hope colleges will open their purse and grant them an education. After all, they charge astronomical fees just to get an education in this country and the head of most colleges are swimming in an obscene money.

exactly.

Why does society get forced to pay for criminal behavior?

these poor women need charity from society to get back on the ground. May need it forever. this was slavery of the worst kind. How did this go unnoticed for a decade?

why does Detroit get bailed out when crime was allowed for decades?

why do schools who squander millions get bailed out time and time again?

why do people get handouts for doing nothing?

Yes that could have been a possibility but in Cleveland area, and the house history would not fare well with potential buyers. Who knows. maybe they should have tried, before tearing it down.
Maybe they should have sold it to a family member, but again, they weren't fans either.
