One has to wonder why Arshot had to be pushed into being a "good neighbor" to the Franklinton area.
And now it is a "possible hotel and restaurant" along with the racetrack.
sorry

Who the heck cares what Gordon Gee and OSU thinks about rezoning the Cooper Stadium property. Gee's and OSU's insistence on building the Schott arena is a major cause of the financial problems at Nationwide Arena.

did anyone think that the new race track wasn't going to be built. They listen to everyones objections, people that live in that area and even though the people said they didn't want it they will build it anyway. What a city huh.

What a crock! The Schott was built for Ohio State events. The Nationwide Arena was built because someone said that a PROFESSIONAL HOCKEY team was coming to town. So when that happens the area will be fine.

I thought Value City opened before Nationwide.... either way... OSU is NOT the cause of the financials woes of Nationwide

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! "OPPONENTS" of the race track are worried about a little noise from the race track!! What are they doing about the noise of the police helicopters, gunshots, boom boxes, and loud neighbors
in the Franklinton area?
I can answer that........NOTHING!!!
If you want to clean house.......start with your own front porch!!!!

I didn't see one valid reason for the project not to go forward in this article. If noise is the issue and they agree to let the City monitor it - where's the problem?

If they don't go forward with the project, what is PLAN B for the site? Where are you going to create jobs in this struggling neighborhood?

Mr. Coleman - tear down this eye sore!

It amazes me that people will b@tch about a facility that will create year-round jobs.

"But the noise..." Boo f'in hoo

These people must have moved into the area after the Coop stopped holding concerts. There were concerts after games. Oh, and this one time (actually 6) Garth Brooks played until midnight!

I find it fascinating that the only residents in Franklinton who are against this are the younger urban hipsters. The native crowd who have been down there long before it became a hipster project are for the development. I wonder why that is?

I can't believe there is so much opposition to something that would bring jobs and revitalize the area. It's way better than the alternative which is a another decaying building with a weed filled parking lot and gang graffiti spray painted all over.
I used to live in the area, and I would welcome any legal business that is going to bring jobs and be a "good neighbor".

Amazing, and I love racing but our Mayor Coleman who opposed putting a legal casino in the arena district because it was not a family friendly place (as if all those bars are in the area were) has no problem with a race track next to Greenlawn where people are buried and within eyesite of downtown Columbus. A racetrack belongs in an open area inside or outside of town away from peoples homes where you do not need to build a 30 foot wall around it trying to keep the noise down!
