Just like Scotland? Do you think there might be a bit of a difference between the history of Scotland and England and a few pissed off gun nuts in the USA?

It took England hundreds of years to fully subdue Scotland, and Wales for that matter as well.

The "gun nuts" of this country are descended from a culture of fighters by and large. And they have a history of demanding independence.

If Scotland can get a referendum on independence, then so can the sons of Scotland in Appalachia.

"Peoples" do exist Che, dialectical materialism is not the motivator of humanity.

Well Karl, since you have brought it up and now claim that the masses residing in Appalachia will in due time call upon the ghosts of their ancestry and rise up out of the hollers, abandon their stills, trailers, goats, chickens, and 1956 Fords to mount a crushing revolt against the US Federal government, I shall patiently stand by and watch for signs of the impending uprising.

But just so I can plan, you know, head to the store for canned goods and dry milk and such, can ya give me some idea when Clem an the boys might be thinkin of "giving up the chickens", so to speak?

Is that all you have? Are that that outraged by the fact that you're geographically and socially ignorant about a region not all that far away?
"Poorly educated"? You wouldn't know Fredericton, New Brunswick from New Brunswick, New Jersey.

If/when a new gun ban passes congress and is signed into law.

When we have 20 NY counties condemning the new ban there, imagine when there is nowhere else to go, and we are put on fatal ground. That's when the fighting will start.

"Nowhere else to go" and "Fatal ground" huh? That's when it starts, up in NY.

What about Appalachia? Two different fronts? This all goin down at the same time or what? What's your inside sources say Karl?

This is exciting.

Now let's put this all into a little perspective.

I don't know anything about guns, but Olympic Arms and York Arms? Never heard of them. Their boycott of New York sounds like like the Mormon Church boycotting Ohio.

Sounds like a PR stunt by gunmaker equivalents of Sharon Angle, meant to whoop up all the lemmings who watch Fox and believe everything they say.

Sorry, but I can't watch Fox anymore without Brit Hume and Major Garrett. The gay guy on at 7:00 is okay, but they need a new schtick.

I used to like Fox, but there's too much sameness on that channel anymore.

Where did I say anything about Maine leaving the Union? I was commenting on Maine's lack of energy resources, where it obtaines its energy from and its relationship to those energy providers. For some reason, that angered you, and the only reason it could is because you're not too bright.

Olympic is a pretty fair sized contract manufacturer and a supplier to the military and some federal agencies.
York is a local dealer. The idea being that if local dealers start shutting off their local cops, it's a pain in the ass for those departments who have to go elsewhere. In Vermont there's even a shooting range that has told the local and state police to take a hike after having them shoot there for decades.

You've known me long enough to know I hate jumping on bandwagons. It's like in the old days when they showed leftist protests on the news making them seem like a big deal, when in person only 13 people show up.

Now if Smith & Wesson bans New York, that's going to be big news to me. York, not such a big deal.

I just hate being manipulated by the media more than anything else.

Why couldn't it happen if a state legislature passed a measure calling for one? The feds can't do a thing about the residents of the state voting in it. Now what would happen after that is anyone's guess. Did you happen to miss the marijuana votes in Colorado and Washington three months ago?
You're a "lawyer," right?
