Buxton, ME --( Ammoland.com )- Based on the recent legislation in New York, we are prohibited from selling rifles and receivers to residents of New York.

We have chosen to extend that prohibition to all governmental agencies associated with or located within New York.

As a result we have halted sales of rifles, short barreled rifles, short barreled shotguns, machine guns, and silencers to New York governmental agencies.

For “civilian” customers residing in New York: At your choice, we will:

Complete your order and ship to a dealer of your choice outside of NY.
Refund your payment in full.
Hold your items here for up to 6 months, at no charge – if you are in the process of leaving NY and taking residence in another state.

For LE/Govt customers in New York: Your orders have been cancelled.

Remington (NY)
Colt (CT)
Smith and Wesson (MA)
Ruger (CT) they do have an AZ factory
Kimber (NY)
Kahr (MA) not a buyer due to Unification Church link
Troy (MA)

Attn: Governor Mike Pence of Indiana, get off your but and attract them there, and get them to publicize that RTW was important.

That is a smart business decision. Now their competitors will be forced to profit from those government contracts.

That should teach Albany a thing or three!

In an earlier life as HUD Secretary, Andrew Cuomo tried to convince Smith and Wesson that it would get a ton of government contracts if it voluntarily agreed to impose registration on its buyers among other things.

S&W nearly went under from the resulting boycott.

Government sales are a smaller fraction of the total sales, for all companies except two: Colt and FN, excepting the makers of the heavier machine guns that you and I cannot get due to the retarded 1986 ban (note that the only crimes, two, committed with registered machine guns, were by COPS)

And for years, the industry was discounting group sales to the government, as a way of establishing the credibility of its product.

I got an interest in Glocks because the local police use it, many others would agree. Same with Sigs (Devgru, OSHP)

.gov sales are loss leaders for most mfgs

Any mfgers that continue to sell to NY, will almost surely be boycotted, I doubt Obama will order a federal bailout of them if they fail, he'll just buy from overseas.

I doubt that LePage will act with hostility towards them, the polls indicate another 3+ major candidate race next year, and he may yet win again with plurality.

Though the tax climate sucks.

I understand the principles in play here perfectly. The merchants of death are sad because firearms regulations reduce their profits.

It always has. That's always been insanity considering their location. That leads to yet another high cost factor...no manufacturing so everything is shipped in. Aroostook County looks like a cheap place to live when you see the real estate prices and local taxes. Then look at energy and food costs. You're going to pay. A lot.

I sincerely hope you're faced with a situation where you can't defend yourself. If you survive, you might wake up.

Not entirely accurate, the current push for new regulation will actually increase there profits, as banned guns in NY will be replaced with yet-to-be-banned guns.

That's why Remington hasn't bailed on NY, even anti-gun Spitzer and anti-gun Schumer directed state and federal aid to keep them in Ilion.

And in the case of a ban, it's almost certain that supply will increase from the amount of sten guns constructed in the workshops of America.

Alaska without the oil, essentially.

I would not be surprised if there is oil restricted by the leftists, so Angus King can steal from the taxpayers for his windmills.

Nope. Take my word for it...the only indigenous energy source in Maine is firewood with a small sprinkling of hydro.

Maine buys most of its power from the Point Lepreau nuclear plant in New Brunswick and hydro from Hydro Quebec.

Once Collins is gone, and a real socialist is elected in her place, I vote to send them back to Canada.

In the coming Balkanization, that will likely happen to them and Vermont.

Glock and Sig have discount programs for police officers purchasing weapons for.themselves or for duty. Time these programs ended. A cop should get a better price.than a tax payer buying a weapon. A multiple weapon discount is one thing but single purchases should cost a taxpayer more than a public trough feeder
