I've long surmised that you're far too stupid to have built a business on your own. If, indeed you do have one, it's a hand me down that you've about run into the ground.
you are wrong as always.

my father worked at a corporation 45 years, and mom was a house wife.

sorry for you stupid wrong directed comments as usual.

I am an employer, and 100% of my employees are hand picked best candidates that work on a 1099 contract.

Why?

because they want to earn more money only off their hard work. Lazy starves in my venue.

all you lazy liberals can't gdet your arms around how someone is successful. It is easy to see why, but lazy people want it handed to them.

all you receive with 1099 is exactly what you earned, and all the bennies you must buy on your own, just like everyone else living in realityville.

Many people work on a 1099. Contractors, for example.

No it is not bad. I know someone that sold a car to Summit Racing and got a 1099 misc. Income. Which is odd sine it was essentially a material sale not any form of work

Income doesn't necessarily have to come from work, right? Hence, "misc. income".

Contradiction in terms, there.

"People such as doctors, dentists, veterinarians, lawyers, accountants, contractors, subcontractors, public stenographers, or auctioneers who are in an independent trade, business, or profession in which they offer their services to the general public are generally independent contractors. However, whether these people are independent contractors or employees depends on the facts in each case. The general rule is that an individual is an independent contractor if the payer has the right to control or direct only the result of the work and not what will be done and how it will be done. The earnings of a person who is working as an independent contractor are subject to Self-Employment Tax.

"If you are an independent contractor, you are self-employed. To find out what your tax obligations are, visit the Self-Employed Tax Center.

"You are not an independent contractor if you perform services that can be controlled by an employer (what will be done and how it will be done). This applies even if you are given freedom of action. What matters is that the employer has the legal right to control the details of how the services are performed.

"If an employer-employee relationship exists (regardless of what the relationship is called), you are not an independent contractor and your earnings are generally not subject to Self-Employment Tax."

Not if they meet the criteria for being contractors.

RS, however, claims that he is an employer paying his workers on 1099, thereby avoiding the payment of worker's comp or unemployment insurance.

No--if one actually believes that RS runs a business and has employees--it is doubtful that they are contractors, and particularly not using the criteria he proposes, which is "hiring the best people" who want to make more than if they were paid a salary.

What RS actually does, if he does anything, is certainly a mystery. But he has revealed over and over again that he knows practically nothing about business or management. So, maybe he is living off of mommy and trophy wife, or inheritance from daddy. Or perhaps some kindly relative grants him desk space in their business to cover for his SSI status. Hard to tell.

Maybe he is actually a small-time entrepreneur selling vitamins and health supplements in one of those pyramid schemes. And he really believes that the more folks he signs up as contractors the greater his income will be.

You've been able to glean, on a message board tied to an unrelated topic, the extent and nature of someone's business acumen?

I'm not taking him at face either, but your projection is a bit over the top, yes?

RS has been displaying his ignorance here for a long time.

For example, one day he was singing happy songs because the cost of oil was making the cost the product he allegedly deal in go up. And since he claims to earn strictly on a commission basis, he believed that the increased production price would bring him increased income.

Further, he claims to be an entreprenuer, not a sales person. He claims to make a living off of some kind of value-add garnered by bringing product together with buyer--for which he is allegedly paid commissions over the length of the resulting sales contract.

One day I swear just about everyone on here had a hand in explaining a basic math problem to him (wish I could remember what it was--probably percentages). The more detailed the explanations the more he just screamed and called everyone names and claimed that he had superior business acumen--which is why his "math" was the only one correct.

Then there was the claim that he had just moved his entire company offshore to avoid paying any US taxes (even though he has frequently whined, cried and complained since then about how much he has to pay while others do not).

And today's story that every one of his "employees" is on a 1099 as a contracted employee--because they want to make the big bucks.

Enough for ya? If not, just hang around awhile, cuz the hits will keep on comin'!

you mean I had a bunch of uneducated morons like yourself unable to perform simple math equations.

you want Reality you stupid parasite witch.....then leave the slum and travel North today at 1PM. On route 23 North you will witness my boat ( your fantasy hope it is a lie) and see a boat and truck headed to Lake Erie with me driving the truck giving you the finger.

PS: either the truck or boat is something you never could have, or even pay the insurance on them. To fill both gas tanks would take 2 months of your welfare payments.

nobody cares what a moron like you thinks, because you can't think period.

A 1099 employee is ambitious and hungry. That is 100% opposite of you.

my quarterly tax payment due in a few weeks exceeds your entire gross income to date by double at minimum.

you are the dirtbag, and your jealousy and envy brings a smile to my face.

My boat cabin is nicer than any house within a mile of your shack, and worth more in cash at an immediate auction for cash than the houses in your slum, maybe an entire block of them.

that is REALITY, and it makes you mad.

boo hoo.

As a third-century man was anticipating death, he penned these last words to a friend: Its a bad world, an incredibly bad world. But I have discovered in the midst of it a quiet and holy people who have learned a great secret. They have found a joy, which is a thousand times better than any pleasure of our sinful life. They are despised and persecuted, but they care not. They are masters of their souls. They have overcome the world. These people are the Christians, and I am one of them.

Do you have an opinion of position on the teacher situation in Ohio (the thread topic)?

Before you get mad at me, I myself am a "1099 worker", so I'm not wading into any of that.
