Gay teacher fired by Catholic school claims discrimination

Apr 23, 2013 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: World Magazine

Carla Hale, 59, a lesbian P.E. teacher, has filed a grievance against the diocese of the Ohio Catholic school where she worked for 19 years until administrators fired her for "violating moral law." According to The Columbus Dispatch , Hale's sexual orientation became public when an obituary for her late mother published Hale's name along with the ... (more)

A bald-faced LIE. There are NO "mainstream homosexual magazines" promoting pedophilia. Whatever hate group is feeding you this crap is LYING.
There is no REASON to "condemn" these statements, because they are built upon LIES. You're as bad as the sick Islamaphobes whose bigotry poisons right wing hate radio, demanding that ALL Muslims support "jihad" because they don't come join Glenn Beck's Muslim bashing parades.
And the "sex-offender priests" WERE NOT HOMOSEXUAL!!! THEY WERE PEDOPHILES!!! THEY ARE NOT THE SAME THING!!
You proclaim it a lie without doing the research, just as you rewrite the Bible to suit your personal desires.

Your aversion to truth is stunning.

Bull. That's nowhere close to true.
"And for someone spouting on about equality, you should understand the phrase "equality under the law" -- all U.S. citizens enjoy the same rights and remedies under the law;"
Liar!!! All citizens are SUPPOSED to enjoy the same rights. To claim they do is to have your head 60 feet deep in the sand.
"no one deserves special treatment under the law"
Nobody is ASKING for special treatment. NOBODY. Just equality. And you are AGAINST that equality.
"to be set apart as a protected class."
In order to establish EQUAL JUSTICE. Straight people are ALREADY protected, so are men, so are Christians, so are white people. That special hate crimes laws are needed to establish equal protection is a disgrace...it's also an obvious fact.
First of all, because the crime of beating or killing someone solely because of their sexual orientation is so against the most basic nature of equality, it deserves special attention--just as there is a difference between someone beating a spouse to death after years of abuse or a random killing or killing your neighbor because their dog barked too much. The motivation behind a murder is a part of EVERY case.
And secondly because ENFORCEMENT is nowhere close to equal. I have personally seen a case where two people were put into the hospital by a vicious assault. The cops had the guy they knew had done it in cuffs in the back of the squad when they figured out that the two women who'd been beaten were a couple--at which point they released the vicious criminal, APOLOGIZED to him, and dropped all charges. He never was charged.
From cops to courts (such as the judge in Texas who let a case with multiple murders off with a slap on the wrist because, and this is a direct quote, "I don't like queers") there is a long-standing pattern of discrimination against gay people. Hate crimes law makes these federal cases, ensuring proper investigation and prosecution.
Again, it's too bad this is needed. But it very obviously IS needed. Not "special treatment," just simple equality.
Take it from one of your well-respected own:

"The real reason for hate crime laws is not the defense of human beings from crime. There are already laws against that Ė and Matthew Shepardís murderers were successfully prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law in a state with no hate crimes law at the time.

The real reason for the invention of hate crimes was a hard-left critique of conventional liberal justice and the emergence of special interest groups which need boutique legislation to raise funds for their large staffs and luxurious buildings."

-- Andrew Sullivan

And thatís pretty damning...coming from him.

Bite me. "Getting a little testy," you're damn right. I care about the people you hate. I care about the people whose lives you destroy with this trash. I care about the people whose suffering you mock. I care about 15 year olds committing suicide because lowlifes like you convince them God doesn't care about them. About people who hear nothing from their family for years, only to get a phone call-- "It's your brother. You'll read in the paper tonight that grandma died yesterday. We are calling to tell you not to attend the funeral, or we'll have you kicked out." Click, phone hung up. I saw that happen.

Christian?

There's nothing Christian about homophobia. It's hateful, and it's destroying lives of people Jesus told us to love.

As for "what does my mother have to do with it," one questions your ability to read if you have to ask that question. It was explained as clearly as possible, a 5th grader could understand it.

I'll put it another way--do you follow Christ because you care about other people and admire His principles of love and forgiveness? Or do you follow Christ because you think you'll go to heaven if you are, and will go to hell if you aren't?

Faith based upon getting a reward, or avoiding a punishment, is shallow and worthless.

Again, Darren, it's well and good to remember that Jesus Christ represents love and forgiveness. But it's most dangerous to forget that He is holy and righteous, demanding repentance before entering a relationship with Him -- a relationship which empowers sinners to better resist sin, and to live more holy lives before God.

tip-"I only need read your first paragraph, Darren."

I'm not surprised. Most homophobes really aren't that well-read on scripture, and have no interest at all in what these verses really mean.

"And no..."most" Bible scholars do not adhere to the evil, disgraceful, revisionist crap you spout."

Lie. Most do. And NOTHING I've said is "revisionist." What is revisionist is CHANGING this into meaning something it does not, and pretending that Paul of Tarsus is God and Paul's words God's.

And to call it "evil" is hysteria at it's worst, no, it's not remotely "evil" to tell the truth.

And I'll be cold and dead before I'm EVER ashamed of standing up for Christ's truth in the face of those who pervert the Bible into a weapon of hate and destruction.

"Nowhere in the Bible does one find God's approval of same-sex behaviors. Instead, they are condemned."

Lie. They are not EVER condemned, and as has been pointed out REPEATEDLY the verses you twist to claim otherwise WERE NOT WRITTEN BY GOD.
If God didn't approve of homosexuality, She wouldn't have made all those darn gay people.

We know what a sin is. Sex within a committed loving same-sex relationship does not comes anywhere vaguely CLOSE to meeting the definition.

"The Garden of Eden, God's blueprint for mankind,"

That's laughable. Genesis is a fable, a story, nowhere close to accurate. Do you honestly think the planet is 8000 years old? Come now. If EVERY person was supposed to follow this "blueprint," AGAIN, God wouldn't have made so many people gay.

On purpose.

"did not include homosexual persons."

It only included two people, and an obvious need for them to be heterosexual. God's plan DOES include homosexual people, or they wouldn't exist. The idea that every single person must make babies is lunacy, and if it were true why aren't those who choose not to marry ever or not to have kids viewed just as "sinful" as gay people?

"Perversions of God's blueprint entered the world through the first sin -- that of believing oneself to know better than God how one ought to act and live one's life."

A sin YOU are practicing RIGHT NOW. God made those people gay, GOD knows what God is doing, you do NOT. YOU think you know BETTER than the God who created them what they ought to be and with whom they ought to fall in love.

God told you all you have to do is treat them with love. Somehow that's not good enough for you, your human pride overrides Christian love.

"You know, there's a big difference between being a sinner and denying that your sin is sinful at all."

You're right, but some things are NOT sinful, and homosexuality ABSOLUTELY is NOT. The idea that it's a "sin" to be something you did not choose, can not change, and which harms NOBODY is idiocy. It's like saying it's a "sin" to be left-handed.

"and there's an even bigger difference when you actually label your sin a virtue"

First off, homosexuality is not a sin.

And secondly, you've repeated this moronic lie over and over again--NOBODY says homosexuality is a virtue!! It is merely a difference. No better or worse than heterosexuality.

Virtue is CHOSEN. Sexual orientation is not. It's not a virtue, and nobody is saying it is.

"and then demand that everyone else do so as well [including God, of all people]."

Liar. NOBODY cares about it being "declared a virtue." All ANYONE is asking is simple equality, and truth.

God already KNOWS homosexuality is not a sin. All that's being asked is that you stop spreading hate and lies and doing so sinfully in God's name.

"Good luck with that."

Save your breath. I already know God knows it's not a sin to be gay, and that bigotry is a destructive, hateful sin.

tip-"There has been no hate in anything I have posted here."

That itself shows even more levels of hate. What you're posting IS hateful, and to deny that shows you truly have NO Christian love for the victims of your bigotry.
Claiming the way God created them is a "sin" is hate. Claiming God will torture them in "hell" is hate. Demanding celebacy for life is cruel and hateful. Claiming they can "repent" when EVERY gay person knows they cannot is hate.

To love someone, you have to see things from their perspective, and if something you're doing is hurting them, stop doing it.

"You on the other hand, are melting down."

You wish. I am not remotely close to "melting down." I know this issue very well, and have debated it with thousands of people over the years. Angry? You bet, and you know why, because I've seen the results of the hateful lies you're spouting, and UNLIKE you I care about the people whose lives you're destroying.

Very angry? Yes. "Melting down"? Not even close.

"Homophobia: non-medical, non-scientific pejorative term"

Lie. It's not pejorative in any way, nor is it "non-scientific" or "non-medical." Nothing so stupid as homophobes trying to pretend homophobia doesn't exist, like racists 50 years ago claiming racism was a "construct of the liberal media."

"used to demean and ridicule any disagreement with or disapproval of aberrant, deviant, or unnatural pseudo-sexual behaviors."

A vile lie. It's not any more "demeaning" or "ridiculing" than calling a racist a racist. It's simply acknowledgement of truth.
Being gay is NOT aberrant, is NOT deviant, and is NOT unnatural. It is not "behavior," and is no more "pseudo-sexual" than heterosexuality is. And your comments here PROVE your hate, all the more.

Homophobia is real. And it is wrong.
