Here is the latest twist Nigerian scammers seem to be using. Bibles for Nigeria!

I got this letter in my email today.

LOL

Dear Brethren in Christ,

I greet you out there in Jesus Lovely name. I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh to the Father but by me John 14:6. Jesus Christ is our salvation! I was searching for a study material when I came across your email and convinced you are a Christian.

Please do not be angry at this letter and undermine me because I am reaching you through the internet. God led me to your email and I know Iím blessed having to know you. I am a member of Glogbegbe Community Bible Church. By His grace Iím a believer born again and blood bought blood of Jesus . I am
married with six children. I have a great passion doing the work of the master especially now I work on my own having not to be disturbed like when I was working 10 hours in the clerk office work.. I am not rich in this wordly riches but rich spiritually in Christ. I came to know Christ in 1998 and since then serve Him with commitment. I live in an area where there is much hunger and crisis but the Lord keeps us from them all. Our church is a small church with about Forty three people. I am the church secretary as well as Adult Sunday school teacher. As you can see I can speak and understand English well as we are British colonised country.

The purpose for writing you is to appeal for your help for bibles. In the past six months we have visited Ojolohukpe village continually and many people have been won there for Christ particularly the old fathers and mothers. Old persons mostly inhabit the villages here because the young
ones are drifting to the urban areas in order to enjoy amenities like electricity and pipe-borne water that are not available in the village. There are 22 aged Brothers and Sisters who can read and asking for bibles because they are now saved. They have so much show concern that we are keeping them always in our prayers for provision of bibles for them. We need 22 giant print bibles for these loved ones who are now saved and eager to feed from Godís word. They cannot afford bibles because they are cost much in this place. Please help to supply bibles to these our brothers and sisters in need. The King James Version will be preferable. Please send the bibles through my address below. If you have any Christian literature one or two that is enriching to the spirit man please send me. please you can send them through registered or insured air-mail through post office.

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

Yours in Christ,

Dunno, but when I googled the name of the church, this came up:

http://www.angel-heartgarrisonministries.org/...

Looks American to me.

And maybe I'm too cynical, but, I don't trust anyone that doesn't have an address.

I dont know I guess I feel like if someone is asking for Bibles and you can send them. Send them! If it is a scam how does it hurt you. If it is not then you have given someone the word.

Well, can't send Bibles without an address.

Cash, however, can easily be sent via the Pay-pal button on the website. Easy enough to set up--even in prison.

Googleed the address....doesn't exist in Nigeria according to what I can search out.

If you want to send bibles, use the mailing address for Angel Heart ministries, not the Nigeria one.

You know, once I told him that I need a couple more days to figure out some things he said, "Oh, well you can Western Union the money, and then I'll send you a reciept."

And, secondly - if it's not a real address, than the Bibles will sit unused in some mail warehouse until they are eventually destroyed. Or you can pray that they are returned to sender.- So either way it's a waist of a lot of money.

Sell them for a 100% profit. After all it costs them nothing. not even shipping. Besides, say that 1000 or even 10,000 people responded to this blanket e-mail (BTW, how did they get MY e-mail address???)

They'd get at least 5-50,000 Bibles, and who knows what they'd sell for on the streets.

I just got this email today:

"Greetings (my first name) in Jesus lovely name. I read about you online and thank God for meeting you and knowing about you. I pray my message finds you doing well in Christ.

By His grace Iím a pastor in Godís vineyard. I was born-again in July of 1985 at the age of twenty-three and married the same year and have been blessed to see God work in many different ways for the last 27 years by the grace of God. My wife Helen and I are blessed with six children. I have a certificate in College of Education and I take a primary school teaching job when I find one. My wife works at home for the children and also works as volunteer at an orphanage home. We are not rich in the things of this world but blessed in Christ. I was called into the ministry in 2007 while still in another State. We moved into Benin December 2010. When we came in here there was no single church in my quarters. My family and I would move 20 kilometers to fellowship in another church. Because it was raining season most times we would be unable to go to fellowship then we resulted to having a fellowship in my sitting room. After three weeks of fellowship three neighbours joined and then more and more people came in. We had about 12 persons in six weeks, it was then I had the calling to start a church and we moved into a rented car park. In another three months the fellowship grew to 20 and above. Today there are between 45 and fifty members in the church. The name of the church is Believers Bible Church.

I have dedicated this ministry to reach unbelievers with the gospel of Jesus Christ, teach people to become fully committed followers of Jesus Christ through discipleship, and to help people build healthy and healed families based on biblical values and principles. Most people here are from disjointed polygamous family background and hence the need to teach and focus on Christ based families. Matthew 6:33 is a powerful scripture in my life. When I trust God enough to pursue His will for my life first, everything else follows!

My major purpose of writing is to seek your help in the area of Godís word the bible. In need your help for an Electronic Bible, preferably Franklin Electronic Bible either in KJV or NIV but Kjv preferably. This bible uses battery and has a lot of Daily devotional studies, convenient to use and portable. In the part of town where I live we have little electricity supply. To study at night using lamp is always difficult. The electronics bible has it own light which makes it easy to read without lamp or candle. In addition, it has calculator and clock. My pastor friend has one which was bought for him as gift from abroad and it is very wonderful. Please I beg that you send me one and one for my assistant pastor. This would be a great seed you sow into our lives and as we open it each time to read it we would be praying for you asking God to open new chapters of blessing in your life. This would be the greatest blessing and gift any one has given me owe you my prayers. It is not available for sale here and even if we cannot afford it. If you have one or two Christian books you may add. I love Joyce Meyer and Kenneth Hargin books if you have. This is our need and nothing else. You can send this to us through the post office. Insured mail or express mail international would be better and safer. My postal address is Box Nipost Box 5272, Nipostos, Benin, Edo State, Nigeria.

We would be delighted to have you come to visit us, as much would be accomplished for the Lord in our working together. I will be checking my email for your reply. I do not have personal internet and Iím writing from a commercial email cafť but will check often. Write soon and God bless you.

Yours in Christ,
John Izekol

Think about who you've given your email address to.

I bet you can easily list a dozen suspects who might pass it on for a fee.

I received that same email the day before you did! I guess they were going through a database and just had a set time to send them.

Wow, I was really thinking for a second that these guys needed help. I thought that the story didn't make sense but I was going to try to find a way for them. I hate that they're doing this under the guise of religion, smh, but such is life. Everyone is not honest and sending bibles would only support them in their treachery. We gotta pray for these people to find a better way to make a living.
