The first "reality show" was actually "The Real World". This was at least two decades ago.

It's true, in the past ten years, such 'shows' would go on to dominate television due to their ease of production and fairly low production costs. I pray that scripted television makes a return. All I see on tv today is "reality" dysfunction and depressing simple-mindedness.

I miss the days when watching tv could actually lift my spirits and make me feel good after a hard day's work.

I agree with you because I think that now every post of TV show "reality show". We watch the misery life of other people and that amuse us. Many chanels present "reality show" to make us laugh but the problem is that we don't laugh anymore. TV is become voyeuristic. It is like we love watching life of other people, we love watching dispute between people. In fact, we enjoy watching problems of other human. I think it sad because we don't appreciate TV as before. We are not relax and we can't enjoy a good chanel anymore. TV has to make the difference between private life and "unrealistic life" and not take true story to make a reality TV. TV is too present in our lives.
