Random Thoughts | Vicki Elliston: Irate note on parking crossed line | The Columbus Dispatch

Ever walk up to your vehicle and find a note under a windshield wiper? I thought the one I spotted recently on my truck was an advertisement, until I noticed that no other cars had one. Full Story

If you can't park between the lines, don't park there, get a smaller vehicle, or many other solutions. What about the person trying to get out of THEIR driver's side door that you pinned in by parking on or over the line? Parking lines are not just a "suggestion".

It was me I left the note. And it *was* an advertisement, an advertisement for "Fight Club 2: The Movie" starring you and me and my fist and your face. What are you going to do, park ineptly at me? HIYA! I'll bruise your steering arm, you truck driver. Maybe you can write an article about it "how I lost a fight and learned my lesson, extra extra read all about it." Think about it at least.

Wow. What a "it's all about me and my convenience" attitude! Someone called her on her deliberately rude behavior and she complains?? Sorry, her explanations are just excuses for being inconsiderate of others.

When you have a large vehicle as I do, you need to find a more accomodating spot, not expect others to accomodate you. I find it ridiculous that you wasted good space in this publication to try to get other to sympathize with your gas guzzler and your weight issues.

You're probably one of those morons that sits in the left lane of 270 during rush hour because you are feeling like a rebel doing 66mph with a death grip on the steering wheel (both hands at 10 and 2 of course).

A good rule of thumb: If you can't park it, DON'T DRIVE IT. Just because those door jobs won't make your crap Dodge look any worse doesn't mean that anyone else is in the same boat.

It seems that you probably don't respect any lines. Like, for instance, the line at Golden Corral.

You really should think about getting a smaller vehicle. My motto is: "if you can't park it, don't drive it." Not only will you actually be able to park without inconveniencing everyone around you, you will save gas and create less pollution. I won't make it about your size because I have a large relative who drives a compact car and doesn't have any problems with it. I understand the note writers position, it is very frustrating to see the same vehicles parked awkwardly day after day and I'm sure that person just got to their breaking point. Remember, the world doesn't revolve around you.

Hey everyone its me the manager of the parking garage... just want to say that for the past four months I've been repainting her designated spot so that the lines are closer and closer together... every day her spot gets a little smaller; I made a DVD of her trying to get out of her car its pretty funny. Flailing arms and legs like an octopus trying to slip through a mail slot. She hasn't caught on yet so nobody tell her thanks... PEACE OUT

What a painfully stupid and sad thing to say.

I know this has to be a joke. No one would actually be this stupid right? Although the reposnes have made my day. Thanks.

Slow news day, apparently. However, I guess if you work for or at the Dispatch, you can get all the ink you want.

Aren't there more pressing issues than some overweight person parking or getting out of their car?

Just sayin'...

Looks like everyone already had said what I wanted to say.

1. Be thankful I didn't actually see you parking and just left a note

2. Since when did your large body and large car become my (and everyone else's) problem?

This is why Ohio sucks.... The people that think they are entitled because they are lazy slobs make me FURIOUS

Dear Vicki Elliston, You should trim the fat out of your life with your car and yourself. No it's not normal to be fat but we understand that you want to try and make yourself feel better.
It's also not normal to hit the press for complaints about your large arse. Itís people like you with a false sense of entitlement that make this country shitty you should go work at Wal-Mart where you belong.
You should be ashamed of yourself

When did it become society's responsibility to accomodate fat, slovenly, wastes of life because you don't know when to stop shoveling mounds and mounds of pot pie into your disgusting suck hole? Here's an idea, if you didn't consume the same amount of food that an elephant eats everyday then maybe you wouldn't have to drive a battle tank of a car and have issues parking said beast.

Put down the fork.
