We have a small dog house on the deck for the stray cat to sleep in. The coons keep sh!tting in it. I guess they are litter box trained,lmao.

Shoot those damn coons.
Use a live.trap from tractor supply with mason jar in it.to hold a piece of cinnamon bread. The cats won't bother it but.coons will. Then just put a 22cb or sss22 into the coons head. Dead coons make good fertilizer for raspberry and blackberry patches

I've been thinking about doing that, Rowdy. And I thought of building a 'run in shed' for the deer. My cousin laughed and said they won't go in it.

I have dozens of pics of coons I've live trapped and relocated, but the population doesn't seem to dwindle much. Mrs. rowdy would be pretty pissed if I killed 'em.

But that doesn't take the cake! My husband was born and raised in Philly and spent 23 years in VA Beach before he met me. He married me, moved in here and insisted on putting the humane trap out around 7 PM. No matter what I said. no, he knew what he was doing.
3 possums, 1 racoon and 1 feral cat later, he began to get my point. And boy, when possums 'play possum'....well, suffice to say, it wasn't pretty.

I always let the Opossums go I catch same for cats. Racoons we exterminate best way to keep.cats out when baiting coons is use bread in a jar. Cats don't bother it but coons like cinnamon bread and go in since.they cant reach in the jar from outside.

Groundhogs I trap with a no2 leg.hold trap placed in their holes and staked down they have to go through the trap thus getting caught. Trapping them that way keeps cats and.dogs out of the trap.
Last summer we caught a few.opossums and let them go. As soon as the opossum was a.few.feet away they turned and hissed.at the trap. One young opossum ran a little.turned hissed ran turn hissed did that all the way to woods.

They do that here! Look back and hiss! LOL

We are strickly 'catch and release,' unless it's a nocturnal animal out during the day and obvioulsy rabid.

I have to keep the groundhogs away from the dogs.

One day last summer mrs. rowdy and I were eating lunch. I saw something moving on the deck, looked out the door and there was a groundhog looking in at us. Too funny!
