Yes, I have read about the controlled rationing and shortages of roast beef, french fries, budweiser, levis, and NFL sweatshirts.
Simply appalling.

You shouldn't talk about French fry rationing like that. You will get Pale in a tizzy.

The Cherokee were here legally as well, but they were the victims of genocide.

You really have no ability to think abstractly, do you?

Well, unless you are a Native American, we are all immigrants. Europeans have been claiming things that are not theirs for a long time.

Indian History. I call the Native Americans but that's OK,
How about the story of the Ingalls woman from Ingles Ferry VA. Ever hear o it?
Yes I know all about the History of Tuscarawas, Shawnees, Miamis, and other Ohio NAs.
Some of my folks were in Ohio in the 1770s. A few were at the battle of Tu-Ende-Wei, although not directly in Ohio, involved Ohio NAs.
I wouldn't call what happened to the Tsa-li-gi genocide. It was more the result of Jackson's hatred of NAs plus that durn gold found on Tsa-li-gi land, white man's greed.
If it was genocide they would have been shot on the spot or starved to death. One o my spouse's ancestors had a store in what is now Cherokee County, North Carolina and a lot of her ancestry were farmers in Virginia before 1800. Elizabethton Tennessee, called Betseytown by the people was settled by one of her ancestors Elizabeth "Betsey" Ward Martin. lot of Cherokee had taken up white man's ways and were farmers a generation before the Trail of Tears.
The woman who had the store in Cherokee County North Carolina was the mother of the woman who settled Elizabethton Tennessee.
Many people living in the mountains hills and hollers of Tennessee, Virginia, the Carolinas, Georgia, Kentucky and West Virginia have Ta-li-gi ancestry.
genocide fraid not. When palavering, conversing to flatlanders, about a subject, know said subject.
Wa hoohoo e doodoo, not actually spelling but phonetics! That's my name in Tsa-li-gi!!!

Really? You think the Indians sprouted from North American soil? They're immigrants just as much as any other group.

You right TM. Tsa-li-gi lived in Great Lakes region, moving into the Southern mountains ca 1000AD! around the time of Christ they moved from Mexico into the Great Lakes. Around the time of David they moved from Canaan to Mexico. Travelers, weren't they!!!
The Delaware living in the area of Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania had arrived from the West coast around a generation before the Europeans arrived.
North America was a land of movement.

I call it genocide. Some call it ethnic cleansing. Merely semantics.

"... an estimated 31,000,000 buffalo were killed between the years of 1868 and 1881 with only 500 buffalo left by the year of 1885.

By the end of the 19th Century, the Native American population was only 237,000, down from one million a century earlier."
