Who needs a law when you have a governor saying it out loud?

“Their problem is not me and the Democrats; their problem is themselves. Who are they? Are they conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”

“I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been in favor of bringing about in anyway the social and political equality of the white and black races – that I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race. I say upon this occasion I do not perceive that because the white man is to have the superior position the negro should be denied everything.”

The subject is a republican representative pissing on basic human rights as a citizen. Try and keep up.

"Basic human rights"

Sorry Rhino, the right to discriminate is one of those rights. "Anti-discrimination " creates "positive rights" which are not rights at all, but obligations mandated at the point of a gun.

Not surprising that 3.1 would think that passing a law that would permit discrimination and political rhetoric about who we want to be as a state or nation are the same thing.

Both are utterly dismissive of the rights of citizens. And a sitting governor expressing that sentiment is far more disturbing than a backbencher in a state legislature yammering about a proposal that will never see the light of day, even in committee.

Saying that people like you are a fringe minority is not comparable at all to introducing legislation to permit discrimination.

When it comes to employers I think they should stay out of the lives of their employees except for work, period. When it comes to providing a service to the public..... that's most business too... if you want to let your beliefs get in the way of a good business decision....... the market should decide if that stays or goes not anti discrimination law. If you sink as a result then maybe your "god" planned it that way...

How much of a "fringe" are we, dummy? Have you checked the gun laws in this country? They've been much more friendly to us in a trend that's been constant for this entire century so far. And are you calling 45% who call themselves pro-life, "fringe"?
